Sisters, 21KL10 and 21KL9 the results of crossing MOTION OF THE OCEAN X DISCO LIGHTS. I love the veining (the lightning effect) on both! The darker band along the edge on 21KL10 tweaks the appearance to distinguish it from others with similar patterns and coloration. When 21KL9 bloomed in 2024, I was looking forward to it blooming again to see it repeated the pattern. Yippee, grow babies grow.

This is Seedling 22QF1, I 🥰 my Browns! Hopefully, following in the footsteps of my other browns, although no relationship to Home Brew and Carmelicious to an introduction some year soon.

The Iris bloom season has been a BIG DISAPPOINTMENT! Early season Tall Bearded were frozen inside the center fan or were so short they bloomed at six inches or less. Mid season was a little better but still hard to judge the seedlings for reselection. Late Talls weren't perfect but better. I still haven't spread any pollen this year; maybe it's time to call it quits in creating new varieties and just deal with what I already have? Maybe....... All the varieties shown are seedlings, therefore no names!

Sharlene Sutter's garden in Switzerland is featured in the June issue of the German gardening magazine GARTEN. I had the huge pleasure of meeting Sharlene and visiting her beautiful garden a few years back, a must visit! The article shares several photos of various named Iris, including my broken color Introduction BOOM SHAKALAKA. It should be available in 2027 through Suttons Iris Garden.

I haven't posted the progress of my 2025 crosses in about a month. No greenhouse this year to spur on the growth, totally outdoors exposed to the weather. About 10,000 babies give or take. 😃 Only a couple of pots had no germination. No saving until next year, 10,000 should be plenty to work with. They will stay in the pots until June when I plant out to the garden.

Seedling 23EC; Greatest Showman X Papal Slippers. Lined out in Wasco, California, where I have my 2022 and 2023 seedlings planted. Seedling 23EC is currently blooming, and it glows from across the field. I'm not crazy about the haft Lines, but I may turn a blind eye and select anyway because of how it glows! About 75% to 80% of my 2025 ✝️ ✝️ ✝️ have germinated. The first seeds germinated three weeks ago. The pots with pink tags in the shadow of the brown pillow where the soil hasn't warmed as fast are a little slower to show some growth, but they are coming!
