Sam's Family Spa Hot Water Resort was built in 1971 on over 50 acres of selected desert property with underground hot mineral water springs. Our therapeutic pools are partially enclosed and are naturally heated by hot mineral water pumped from three underground wells which are constantly flowing through the pools. Our wells are approximately 105 to 140 degrees and between 265 and 300 feet deep. So

ak for a while and then kick back and feel the heat of our dry sauna. Now "this" is family relaxation at it's finest! Travel trailers, tents, motor-homes, campers and fifth wheels are all welcome here. We even have motel rooms for those who prefer not to camp. Free Wi-Fi is included in your stay! Sam's Family Spa was created and designed as a family park, so that both children and adults could enjoy the facilities. Stay for a day...a week...a month...or a lifetime!!!

POV: The campground secrets are getting leaked and somehow you’re the first one mentioned.

Every campground has a few stories. Some are funny, some are questionable, and some are probably best left around the campfire.

At Sam’s Family Spa, we’ve been welcoming locals, travelers, RVers, and desert explorers since 1971, so you can imagine we’ve collected a story or two over the years.

Come for the RV sites, mineral hot springs, pools, and laid-back desert atmosphere. Stay for the possibility that your campground chair might accidentally become the hottest seat in the documentary.

No secrets were harmed in the making of this video.

Desert nights just hit a little different.

If you’re looking for something to do after a day of soaking, swimming, or exploring the High Desert, head over to Desert Nights on the BLVD. With live music, food trucks, local vendors, and plenty of good desert energy, it’s an easy way to spend a Saturday night.

The event happens every 2nd and last Saturday from 6 to 10 PM, making it a fun addition to your Desert Hot Springs getaway or weekend road trip.

Come for the music, stay for the food, wander the booths, and enjoy a little local flavor under the desert sky.

How long should you soak in a hot spring? Save this for your next dip.

When you’re enjoying the mineral hot springs at Sam’s Family Spa, more soaking time isn’t always better. A good rule of thumb is to pay attention to the water temperature and how your body feels.

104°F or higher: Limit your soak to 5 to 10 minutes.
101°F to 104°F: Aim for about 10 to 15 minutes.
100°F or below: Up to 15 to 20 minutes.

Take a break between soaks, drink plenty of water, and give yourself time to cool down and relax. The whole point is to enjoy the experience, not turn your soak into an endurance sport.

Save this for your next desert getaway, then come enjoy the mineral pools, hot springs, sunshine, and laid-back atmosphere at Sam’s Family Spa.

Your next desert reset might need a little heat.

A sauna session can be a simple way to slow down and recharge, with potential benefits like supporting cardiovascular health, relieving stress, boosting your mood, and giving your skin a healthy glow. That post-sauna feeling? We’re fans.

Pair some sauna time with a mineral hot spring soak, a swim in the pools, and a little desert sunshine, and you’ve got yourself a pretty solid wellness day at Sam’s Family Spa.

Come for the hot springs. Stay for the full-body reset.

California dreaming, but make it a little more desert.

Sam’s Family Spa is the kind of California desert motel where you can slow down, soak in naturally heated mineral hot springs, lounge by the pools, and let the rest of the world feel a little farther away.

With its vintage desert charm, relaxed atmosphere, and history as a favorite stop for locals and travelers since 1971, Sam’s has a personality you don’t get at your average motel. Stay in the motel, pull in with your RV, or come by for a day of soaking and sunshine.

Located in Desert Hot Springs, Sam’s is an easy getaway from Southern California and a great home base for exploring the desert, with Palm Springs nearby and Joshua Tree about 45 minutes away.

California dreaming never looked so good.

Need a break from the desert heat? We have an idea.

If you’re staying at Sam’s Family Spa and the summer temperatures are starting to feel a little intense, take a trip up the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. In about 10 minutes, you can go from the desert floor to nearly 8,500 feet, where the mountain air can be dramatically cooler.

At the top, you’ll find hiking trails, panoramic views, restaurants, an observation deck, and plenty of fresh mountain air to make you forget about the heat for a while.

It’s an easy addition to your Palm Springs and Desert Hot Springs getaway, especially when you want to mix your hot spring soak with a little high-altitude adventure.

Save this for your next desert trip and send it to your favorite heat-escape partner.
