๐ŸŽ† Boomin Fireworks Night
The fireworks were the part everybody will remember, but I think my favorite moment came right before them, when the whole gang went quiet and looked out over the water like the sky had asked for our full attention.

That is not easy to accomplish with our group.

We had started the evening with that golden vacation energy where nobody was fully ready on time, but everyone looked cute enough to forgive. I had the bag, the backup wipes, the child who suddenly needed a different pair of shoes, and Bill, who announced he was โ€œnot dancing tonightโ€ with the confidence of a man who did not know music was about to find him.

The stroll was worth it before the night even got going. The kids had that after-dinner sparkle, Mom and Dad were in full people-watching form, and the whole place had that summer-evening glow where string lights make everyone look like they planned better than they did.

Then the music started.

Not wild. Not overwhelming. Just enough to loosen everyone up. The kids did their little sidewalk dance moves, which involved knees, elbows, and several creative choices I will not be entering into the family record. Bill tapped his foot for three full songs before admitting nothing. Dad smiled like a man who had seen enough decades to know that a good beat is still a good beat.

And then came the fireworks.

The first burst went up and the kids froze. The second one reflected across the water, and Mom reached for Dadโ€™s hand. By the third, Bill had stopped making comments and just stood there smiling, which is how I know the night had officially gotten him.

It was big and bright and loud in the best possible way, but the sweetest part was watching everyone watch it. The kids looked up like the sky was doing magic just for them. Mom and Dad looked happy and a little misty. Bill looked like he was already planning to pretend this had been his idea.

Afterward, we came back to Jade East 710 and let the balcony do what it does best.

The Gulf was dark and calm. The chairs were waiting. The kids were sleepy in that boneless vacation way where they somehow still ask for one more snack. We sat around the table with drinks, crumbs, damp hair, and that pleased little silence that only happens after a night has worn everybody out correctly.

Boominโ€™ Fireworks gave us the sparkle. The balcony gave us the exhale.

๐Ÿ” Pull Up Hungry In Destin
We came off the beach from Jade East 710 with sand on our ankles, salt in our hair, and two kids in the back seat acting like unpaid witnesses in a hunger investigation. Fatboys was waiting over on Harbor Boulevard, and the intel was already warm: Meghan Bixby Graybeal had tipped us to the Hula Girl, fried pickles, and wings; Kelsea T had mentioned quick food, good service, outdoor seating, and a big Connect Four situation; Michelle M had a file open on the Firehouse Burger and Mac N Cheese Bites.

Jane looked at me from the passenger seat like she had been casing the joint for weeks before I found the parking spot. โ€œPull up to Fatboys like you mean it,โ€ she said, and that was that. Inside, the room had the relaxed vacation hum of families, baskets, sauces, fries, and kids suddenly negotiating like tiny attorneys.

๐Ÿฅ’ Fresh Fried Pickles
Crisp fried pickles served with ranch, the kind of starter that disappears before anyone admits taking the last one.
โ€œIt was the pickles, Johnny,โ€ Jane said. โ€œYeah. Thatโ€™s right. The pickles.โ€

๐Ÿง€ Mac N Cheese Bites
Golden mac and cheese bites come with a choice of Fatboys sauce or ranch.
The kids treated them like evidence too important to share, which is how I knew the case had legs.

๐Ÿ” Original Fatboys
Lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, Fatboys sauce, and American cheese ride in on a brioche bun.
No disguise, no fancy alibi, just a burger that walks into the room and knows its name.

๐Ÿ Hula Girl
Teriyaki glaze, grilled pineapple, slaw, Swiss, and Fatboys sauce make this one sweet, tangy, crunchy, and cool.
Jane took one look and said, โ€œJohnny, that burger has vacation plans.โ€

๐Ÿ”ฅ Firehouse
Fresh serrano pepper, Fatboys fire sauce, fried onion straws, Fatboys sauce, and Pepper Jack cheese stack up on a brioche bun.
This is the spicy suspect, the one Dad orders bravely while the kids watch for signs of weakness.

๐Ÿ— Traditional Wings
Traditional wings come with carrots, celery, and the choice of blue cheese or homemade ranch.
They land on the table like a basket with a confession, saucy enough to make napkins look nervous.

๐ŸŒฎ Baja Fish Taco
Three grilled fish tacos come with cheese, kaleslaw, a drizzle of Fatboys sauce, and tortilla chips.
That plate doesnโ€™t whisper beach-town lunch, Johnny. It testifies.

๐Ÿฅฉ Shaved Steak Philly
Shaved steak gets Fatboys seasoning, sauce, provolone, sautรฉed onions, peppers, and mushrooms on a hoagie roll.
Itโ€™s the kind of sandwich that makes a grown man sit up straighter and stop pretending he was โ€œjust going to have a bite.โ€

๐Ÿ” Kids Cheeseburger Sliders
Two cheeseburger sliders with American cheese give the younger detectives something small enough to handle and serious enough to respect.
The boy called them โ€œtiny burgers,โ€ and the girl called them โ€œmine,โ€ which settled jurisdiction.

๐Ÿฅค Oreo Milkshake
The Oreo milkshake brings the cold, creamy closer after the burgers, wings, and fries have done their work.
Jane watched the kids share it badly and smiled. โ€œWrite it up, Johnny.โ€

By the time we headed back to Jade East, the case file was mostly ketchup, ranch, and happy silence. Fatboys didnโ€™t just feed the family; it gave a beach day a proper getaway car.

Pull up to Fatboys like you mean it ๐Ÿ—๐Ÿ”ฅ
We donโ€™t do small bitesโ€ฆ we do FEASTS.

๐ŸŒŠ Destin Water Day Wins
Some vacation days need more than a beach chair. When youโ€™re staying at Jade East 710, Destiny Water Adventures gives the family a smart water-day option just minutes from Destin and Crab Island, with pontoon rentals, jet skis, guided tours, kayaks, paddle boards, private charters, and enough choices that nobody has to pretend they want the exact same kind of fun.

Thatโ€™s the part that makes it work. Current posted starting prices include pontoon rentals from $169, jet ski rentals from $59, boat rentals with a captain from $449, Crab Island Dolphin Jet Ski Adventures from $229, Paradise Islands Jet Ski Adventures from $119, and kayak rentals from $29, so you can build the day around the group, the budget, and the energy level instead of forcing one plan on everybody.

๐Ÿ›ฅ๏ธ Crab Island Pontoon Rental
This is the classic family setup: a roomy pontoon for up to 12 passengers, a cooler, Bluetooth stereo, safety gear, free fuel, and a route toward Crab Island and the surrounding shallows. When one boat can handle snacks, towels, kids, grandparents, and everybodyโ€™s favorite playlist, now the day has a real game plan.

๐Ÿ๏ธ Crab Island Excursion
Crab Island is that shallow sandbar scene people picture when they think about a Destin water day, with clear water, boats gathered up, and everyone easing into sun-and-splash mode. It works because it turns the question from โ€œwhat should we do today?โ€ into โ€œeverybody pick your lane and enjoy it.โ€

๐Ÿšค Boat Rental With Captain
Starting at $449, this is the version for families who want the boat day without asking one adult to become the navigator, rule-reader, and full-time captain. Thatโ€™s smart vacation design, because the grown-ups get to be part of the memory instead of managing the whole operation from the driverโ€™s seat.

๐Ÿฌ Crab Island Dolphin Jet Ski Adventure
Starting at $229, this guided two-hour jet ski tour is built around Crab Island, Destin Harbor, Santa Rosa Sound, and the chance to spot dolphins along the way. For older kids, teens, and adventurous adults, thatโ€™s the big play โ€” speed, scenery, and a guide who knows where the good water is.

๐Ÿ’จ Destin Jet Ski Rentals
Starting at $59, their two-seater Yamaha jet skis are made for beginners and experienced riders, with staff giving instructions, maps, tips, and safety guidance before you head out. Drivers need to be 18 and backseat riders need to be at least 8, which makes this a strong fit for families with older kids who want a little more throttle in the day.

๐Ÿ Paradise Islands Jet Ski Adventure
Starting at $119, this guided ride points you toward local sandbars, hidden islands, open riding areas, and the kind of water most visitors would not find by wandering around alone. That matters because vacation time is valuable, and when someone shows you the right water fast, the fun starts faster too.

๐Ÿ›ถ Kayak Rental
Starting at $29, kayaks give the quieter members of the family their own pace, with a low-impact way to explore Choctawhatchee Bay, sandbars, and calmer water. Every family trip needs one option that says, โ€œYou donโ€™t have to go fast to have a real adventure.โ€

๐Ÿ„ Stand Up Paddle Board Rental
Paddle boards are simple, sunny, and just competitive enough for the person who says they have great balance and then immediately creates the afternoonโ€™s funniest highlight. Thatโ€™s part of the charm, because sometimes the best vacation memory is not the perfect ride โ€” itโ€™s the wobble everybody laughs about later.

๐ŸงŠ Cooler And Gear Setup
The practical stuff matters here: free on-site parking, coolers, life jackets, Bluetooth stereos, free fuel on pontoon rentals, and add-ons like floats, lily pads, and paddle boards. Those are not little details, because those are the details that keep a family day from turning into a parking-lot negotiation.

๐ŸŒ… Private Sunset Cruise
After a beach day at Jade East, a sunset cruise gives the family a softer finish with open water, sky color, and no sand in the sandwiches. Itโ€™s the calm fourth quarter, where everybody gets quiet for a minute and remembers they are actually on vacation.

Thatโ€™s why Destiny Water Adventures is such a smart add-on to a Jade East 710 stay. You get the beachfront home base, then you get one water day where every generation has something to talk about on the ride back.

๐Ÿ Italian Evening in Destin
There are family dinners that begin as logistics. Then there are the ones that acquire a small mythology by the time the leftover box reaches the condo.

Pazzo Italiano, tucked in Crystal Beach Plaza near Destin Commons, has that civilized little sparkle: the wood-fired oven, the easy bustle, the promise that a child may meet a pizza and a parent may meet a proper forkful of Bolognese. Their posted Destin Locals Night even lists 10-inch pizzas and selected mains among the specials, which is exactly the sort of pleasant arithmetic a vacation family understands. From Jade East 710, it feels like the kind of dinner you choose when the beach has done its grand performance and everyone is sun-warmed, hungry, and suddenly capable of choosing wisely.

๐Ÿž Garlic Bread Rolls
Pizza dough rolls bathed in garlic butter, warm from the kind of oven that makes an entrance before the waiter does.
Order these and the table becomes briefly democratic; every hand reaches with equal conviction.

๐Ÿ• Pizzeta
A small cheese or pepperoni pizza from the bambini menu, built for the smaller traveler who likes his decisions round, familiar, and triumphant.
It is not merely dinner for a child; it is a peace treaty with mozzarella.

๐Ÿ Spaghetti & Meatball
The bambini spaghetti and meatball comes with Pazzoโ€™s signature marinara sauce, a bright red invitation to twirl.
Somewhere between the first noodle and the second napkin, vacation begins looking very sensible.

๐Ÿง€ Fettuccine Alfredo
A traditional creamy white Alfredo with melted Parmigiano Reggiano, and the grown-up menu lets you add chicken or shrimp.
It is soft, rich, reassuringโ€”an edible sweater after a day in saltwater.

๐Ÿ… Bruschetta
Fresh chopped tomatoes, basil, garlic, and olive oil over toasted homemade bread.
A small plate, yes, but it carries itself like a postcard from a terrace where everyone is better dressed.

๐Ÿ• Regina Margherita
San Marzano tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, basil, and extra virgin olive oil on a 14-inch wood-fired pizza.
It is the simple white shirt of the menu: clean, elegant, and mysteriously better than all the complicated things you packed.

๐Ÿ– Fettuccine Bolognese
Ground beef and pork simmered with garden vegetables, San Marzano tomato sauce, and red wine.
A forkful has that slow-cooked confidence of something that did not hurry, because it knew you were coming.

๐Ÿ‹ Chicken Piccata
Sautรฉed chicken finished with tangy lemon butter sauce and capers, served over angel hair pasta.
This is for the parent who planned the sunscreen, found the goggles, and now deserves a sauce with a little sparkle.

๐Ÿค Paccheri Della Mamma
Imported jumbo rigatoni with Gulf shrimp and zucchini in pomodoro cream sauce with smoked Gouda.
The name says mother, the dish says holiday, and the smoked Gouda gives the whole thing a charming little wink.

๐Ÿซ Nutella Calzone
Chocolate-hazelnut Nutella tucked into a warm wood-fired calzone, dusted and drizzled for two to share.
The menu calls it a kid favorite, but watch the adults become suspiciously available when the dessert spoons arrive.

Pazzo works because it lets everyone choose their own version of Italian: pizza for the easygoing, pasta for the devoted, chicken for the practical, and dessert for the family historian who remembers who got the last bite. Return to Jade East 710 afterward with full bellies, sandy ankles, and the quiet feeling that you handled dinner beautifully.

๐ŸŒŠ Big Splash, Smart Play
Now hereโ€™s the thing about a Destin vacation: when youโ€™re staying at Jade East 710, the beach is already doing a lot of heavy lifting. Youโ€™ve got the Gulf right there, youโ€™ve got that 7th-floor view, and then Big Kahunaโ€™s gives you the other kind of water day โ€” slides, waves, racing, floating, mini golf, and a few big-memory plays for the people who came to vacation like they meant it.

And that matters because every group has different speeds. Somebody wants the big slide, somebody wants the lazy float, somebody wants the kid zone, somebody wants to keep score at mini golf, and Big Kahunaโ€™s over on US 98 is built so everybody gets a lane; plus, theyโ€™re currently promoting 25% off Any Day tickets and 30% off season passes, so the value play is right there on the board.

๐Ÿ Kowabunga Racer
This is the multi-lane headfirst racer where friends and family line up side by side and race to the splash. Once you add a finish line, you donโ€™t just have a slide โ€” youโ€™ve got bragging rights for the rest of the trip.

๐Ÿ•ณ๏ธ Jumanji
Jumanji sends riders on their backs through more than 70 feet of dark free-fall slide action. Thatโ€™s the big-play ride for the thrill-seeker in the group, the one who says, โ€œIโ€™m doing it,โ€ before thinking too much about what โ€œitโ€ means.

๐Ÿ„ Honolulu Half Pipe
The Honolulu Half Pipe is Big Kahunaโ€™s FlowRider surf simulator, moving 17,000 gallons of water a minute for nonstop wave action. What makes that work is simple: the good riders look cool, the new riders make memories, and everybody watching has just as much fun.

๐Ÿ Cobra Twister
Cobra Twister is a gentler slide that twists straight into the lazy river. Thatโ€™s smart vacation design, because sometimes you want a little movement first and then a nice easy float like you planned it that way.

๐ŸŒŠ Humunga River
Humunga River takes the tube-float idea and adds waves and currents around Crocodile Flats. So now the relaxing part of the day still has a little action in it, which keeps the whole crew awake and in the mix.

๐Ÿฆˆ Hammerhead
Hammerhead starts on the Temple of Doom and gives riders two curving slide options. Options matter, because the first ride creates the story and the second line creates the rematch.

๐Ÿ๏ธ Bombs Away Bay
Bombs Away Bay is a zero-to-five-foot pool area made for splashing, cooling off, and regrouping. Every water park needs a reset zone, because if everybody can catch their breath without leaving the fun, the whole day lasts longer.

๐Ÿดโ€โ˜ ๏ธ Buccaneer Cove
Buccaneer Cove is the shallow-water playground built for younger kids, with smaller slides and interactive water features. Thatโ€™s important because little kids donโ€™t want to watch the vacation happen โ€” they want their own version of the big play.

๐ŸŒŠ Tidal Waves Wave Pool
The wave pool, Tidal Waves, brings 12,000 square feet of rolling water without the salt and sand. Itโ€™s the kind of middle-ground attraction that works for swimmers, splashers, and people who just want to stand there grinning when the next set rolls in.

โ›ณ Tropical Mini Golf
Tropical Mini Golf gives you 54 holes across three courses with waterfalls, greenery, and obstacles. And mini golf is sneaky fun, because it starts as a calm little activity and somehow ends with somebody asking for a rematch before dinner.

Thatโ€™s why Big Kahunaโ€™s makes sense as a Jade East 710 vacation play. You already have the beach waiting at the condo, and this gives the family one big outing where everybody comes back with a different favorite part.

๐Ÿ“” Mitzi's Destin Diaries | JadeEast710.com
This morningโ€™s official vacation event was shell hunting, which sounds peaceful until you realize certain family members treat one unbroken sand dollar like a legal claim.

We went down early, before the beach got busy and before anyone had sunscreen in their eyes. The kids carried buckets. Mom walked slowly and called everything โ€œa treasure.โ€ Bill found one nice shell and immediately began acting like a coastal archaeologist.

I stayed calm, naturally.

By 9:15, we had collected three perfect shells, seven โ€œmaybes,โ€ one suspicious rock, and something the youngest declared was โ€œprobably from a mermaid.โ€ Nobody corrected her. Some vacation facts are too pretty to investigate.

Then came the best part.

Back upstairs to Jade East 710, sandy feet rinsed, coffee poured, donuts opened, and the shell collection spread across the 7th-floor balcony table for judging. The Gulf was sparkling, the kids were sticky, and Bill was still trying to explain why his shell had โ€œbetter structure.โ€

I gave first place to the mermaid evidence.

Because some mornings in Destin donโ€™t need a big plan. They just need a beach, a bucket, a balcony, and someone wise enough to buy donuts.

Until Next Time,

July on the Emerald Coast is full-blown summer mode: sandy toes by day, fireworks by night, and kids somehow finding a second wind right when the sky starts glowing. Jade East 710 is a great place to stay!

๐Ÿ“ The After-Beach Crepe Stop
There is a particular hour in Destin when the children have had the sun, the parents have had the sand, and everyone needs a little civilization wrapped in something warm.

Enter The Crepe Hut at Destin Commons.

Fresh made-to-order crepes. Waffle bubbles. Waffle tacos. Signature lemonade refreshers made just the way the day demands. Not a full formal meal. Not a grand expedition. A sweet little pause between beach towels and bedtime, between โ€œCan we go shopping?โ€ and โ€œDo we have to leave?โ€

And that is the charm of it.

From Jade East 710, Destin Commons makes an easy family outing: the kids can find the splash pad, the Luckey Climber, murals, and room to wander, while the grown-ups get the rare vacation pleasure of a stop that does not require a reservation, a table negotiation, or anyone pretending they are not also interested in dessert.

A crepe in hand. A cold lemonade. A family suddenly agreeable again.

One should never underestimate the diplomatic power of whipped cream.

Jade East gives you the beachfront home base. The Crepe Hut gives you the small, sweet chapter you remember laterโ€”the one that begins with, โ€œWe were just going to walk around Destin Commons for a minuteโ€ฆโ€

I came looking for the sea, and was stopped first by these pale dunes, as though the shore had sent its quiet ambassadors to greet me.
They rise in soft white folds under a sky full of plump, well-mannered clouds, with little green tufts and scrubby grasses holding fast like brave villagers upon a windy hill.

There is something wonderfully old-fashioned about them, as if the beach has kept this sandy, sunlit front garden for all who arrive weary from the world.
A person may hurry past such things in search of the water, but the wiser traveler lingers here and lets the place introduce itself properly.

If this is the welcome before the waves, then Destin has mastered the art of making a first visitor feel expected.

๐Ÿ‚ November in Destin | JadeEast710.com
This is why November is one of the best months in Destin for relaxation. This is pretty much the view from our balcony every day ~74 degrees. No crowds, anywhere.

The gulf might be a little chilly but you will still have the heated pool and hot tub to yourself!
