We thought it was appropriate that we also share a picture of Mr. Dieter and his son Rich to keep the memory of Seaoats und who was behind it all alive. Dieter (along with the two hard working office managers) was the heart of Seaoats Motel and Rich continued to be the pacemaker after Dieter's passing this year. The family is grateful to have been able to keep this family treasure alive for all these years and without you all that would have never been possible! We hope everyone has a Happy New Year and all the Best for 2026💫

Dear Sea Oats Motel guests... Some of you became friends & some even became like family over these past 46 Years, and we appreciate every single one of you! It is a sad day today for all of Us as we have officially closed our doors!

We want to thank ALL OF YOU for your loyalty, your friendly faces and smiles that walked through this door for decades on end! It was a pleasure sharing your joy, stories and memories at this old Destin gem! We all hope you will find another special place for you & yours that will give you the opportunity to make many more beautiful memories in the future... Thank you wholeheartedly from all of us here at Sea Oats Motel! Those 'footprints' you left in the sand here will aways stay! Take care everyone 💙🩵💙🩵

Well , they were not lying when they said Florida is going to get snow. Time to build a snowman on the beach instead of the usual sand castle 🙃 ⛄️ Here are some current pictures for you to enjoy!

Due to inclement weather we will be expecting (ice & potentially snow... yes SNOW in FL ☺️) Okaloosa County bridges will more than likely be closed on Wednesday morning 1/22/25 . This will cause our office staff not being able to get to work.

So our office hours will be limited for next 2 days:

Tuesday 1/21/25 open from 8 am- 6 pm
Wednesday 1/22/25 open from 12 pm-6 pm

Please leave a voice message if you are calling outside of those business hours and we will get back to you as soon as we can!

Good Morning dear guests! We are closely watching the weather and current forecast says that it will make landfall in Apalachicola which is 111 miles East of us, so current scenario is ... we will get some rain! At this point we will leave it up to the guests who are checking in Wednesday or Thursday if they are wanting to make the trip or cancel. Our regular policies apply UNLESS things turn for the absolute worst and we will get an official hurricane warning for our county which is Okaloosa, then we will issue a refund for missed nights. We appreciate you all and your loyalty to us and hope everyone stays safe!
