This is hilarious! So we were just trying to figure out when we set up the tiny camper, right? So I went back and checked some photos and it turns out it was May 31st 2022. Here's a little slide show that shows you how ridiculously empty it was out there, so with a dash of imagination, and a whole lot of junk from the barn, you, yourself can have a super fancy little Zen Garden.

Our new patio exceeded expectations and was the perfect backdrop for a beautiful baby shower yesterday! Here are a few pictures. Notice how the new stone enhances the farm table's charm. We still have availability this summer and fall.

Well, it's been a long almost-two-weeks, but totally worth it! We're always jazzing up Cedar Oaks Inn, and this just seemed like a logical next step - or a no-brainer, if you will. After we gave the table a facelift, this upgrade was the obvious next move. Now we're gunning for phase 2, which includes a fancy sidewalk to the table, a swanky pad under the Model TT bar, and because who doesn't love a good dance party, a dance floor! Fingers firmly crossed we don't go bankrupt before it gets done.

It's been a hot minute since I last posted, and people have been asking, what in the world have you two been up to? Well, we've finally wrapped up the cutting back and spring planting extravaganza, power washed the house and decks, and given the farm table a makeover. Oh, and let's not forget re-mortaring all the brick pathways because walking on uneven stones was getting old. We've also welcomed 18 new chicks to the family after the coyotes had their way with the previous crew. Charlie, our majestic flame point feral cat, has turned into a cuddlebug with a serious soft spot for rugs. He's also the class clown and now that he's domesticated, Clifford and Mattie are totally on board with how much we love him. We threw a bash last night for Dawn Cannatella King and Trinity Mack whipped up some culinary masterpieces that I'm still dreaming about. Seriously, Trinity Mack, you're a genius. We've also been squeezing in quality time with our adorable grandson Teddy who's turning 4 months old this Saturday - the little chunk is irresistible. And let's not forget the weekend warrior guests we've been hosting. I'm sure I've forgotten something, but Cedar Oaks Inn is open for business and ready to roll out the red carpet. Next week, we're adding a fancy flagstone patio under the farm table because why not?

The Bath House at Cedar Oaks Inn is a haven of tranquility. We've been revitalized by the recent renewal efforts, cutting back dead plants and introducing vibrant new ones, all in preparation for a thriving summer season. The Bath House is my sanctuary - come and indulge in the serenity of nature.

It was a wild Valentines ride here at Cedar Oaks Inn. We started out with a bang, literally, when we had to replace the entire floor at the Garden Bath at the Barracks. What a hot mess, lots of hiccups, but we managed to pull it off 20 minutes before our first guest checked in. We were exhausted, but we still had to move all the potted plants back, cut back most of the dead ones, and pretend like we were functioning members of society. By Friday at 4 pm, we were beat. Thought we were done, but then we got a call for a room on Saturday morning. The only room available was The Bath House, which we had not cut back yet. So we rolled up our sleeves, again, and got to it, making it perfect for our guests. Then we could finally breathe a bit, had a lovely dinner, and cooked a lot of breakfast the next day. We even got to see our adorable grandson, Teddy, and spend time with Allie Slezak Sladek on Monday. Once we got home, Clifford said enough, he was done, went halfway under the blanket, and passed out. Thanks to all our guests this weekend for spending your Valentines here and not judging us for being slightly crazy.

It's a hazardous job being a chicken farmer, folks. Last week I got skunked, and I'm not talking figuratively. Two days before that, I had to wrestle a raccoon out from behind a nesting box, which was an absolute blast. I finally managed to corral the little bandit using log grabbers. Today, when I opened the coop, a feisty chicken nearly gave me a haircut, but I escaped with just a scratch on my arm. After dusting myself off and finding my reading glasses, I was back in business. So, people, do me a solid and buy some eggs – these babies are hard-earned.
