Tubing the Chattahooche River right through Helen, Georgia with your pup is one of the most fun and memorable activities you can experience in the North Georgia Mountains this summer, and you can do just that with Cool River Tubing! Once you get on the water, youโll follow a cool, clear stretch that moves right through the middle of this small mountain town. The route takes you past the townโs Alpine-style buildings, giving it a look that feels straight out of Europe. Youโll pass beneath old stone bridges and float through quiet, shaded areas where thick plants and tall pines grow along the banks. The ride has a good mix to keep things exciting. At times, the current picks up and sends small waves splashing over your tube, then it eases into slower sections where you can kick back and take it all in. Along the way, youโll spot cabins, shops, and mountain views in every direction. Some parts of the river open up and move easy, while others get tighter with rocks that add a little extra fun. When your trip wraps up just beyond town, a shuttle is ready to take you back to the start so you can head out again if you want another ride. Be ready with cash for tubing ($14 weekdays, $16 weekends), plan for a 1โ2 hour float depending on your route, and feel free to bring your dog along...just rent them a tube if needed or let them ride with you. The main tubing season kicks off May 16th and tickets can be purchased on the Cool River Tubing site.
