We’ve made a bittersweet decision. After many unforgettable escapes to Goathaus, our beloved midcentury A‑frame in beautiful Door County, it’s time for us to say goodbye.
When I was a kid, I envisioned one day owning a home on a tranquil wooded bluff with a view of a large body of water; when we discovered this place, that vision came to life. We love it. We’ll miss it. But we haven’t been able to spend as much time there as we used to, so we’re letting our heads win the fight with our hearts on this one.
If you or someone you know is dreaming of a Door County sanctuary that can be a turnkey Airbnb with all the furniture, supplies, and rental history (including repeat guests) to make it earn its keep, well, here you go. Or, just keep it to yourself. That won’t be our decision to make any more.
