While writing anniversary cards for this weekend’s guests, I took some time to read through the Hideaway’s guest book.

The stories people leave behind feel like a precious gift- celebrating year one, or 55 years of love.

Stories of the quiet mornings on the deck, the adventures of hiking and floating, but mostly they are about the time spent resting and reconnecting with their person.

It’s an honor that our little place in the Ozarks is chosen for these sacred moments. It feels important to say thank you- to everyone who has spent a little of your time together here.

In honor of World Teacher’s Day, here is one from the archives-

River of Life Farm co-founder, Ann McKee (shown here with Myron) was a teacher before she was an entrepreneur.

Her first teaching role was at Dora School, and while growing the resort you all know and love-she homeschooled her 7 children.

Thank you Ann, for your years of service, and for the invaluable life skills you taught us along the way.

The river isn’t going anywhere. But we are closing for winter.🍂

River of Life Farm will wrap up our 2026 season on November 8, and will open again for Valentine’s Day weekend 2027. ❤️

We will be accepting bookings for 2027 dates all winter long, just like always, but are excited to use this down time to work on projects around the property.

For those that want one more trip to the river, there’s still time to book October dates!
