The house is a registered Michigan Historic Site (see the plaque on the front porch) and was built in 1872 for Dr. Asa Goodrich. You can enjoy coffee on the front porch as you watch the early morning dog walkers pass by on Center Street. Enter the front door of The Dorothy you enter a large foyer and can see the front parlor to the left and an alcove to the right. Spend some time in the alcove reading or head to the parlor for conversation. A half bath and washer/dryer are off the foyer.

The family room and dining room are an open-concept space just off the kitchen. The dining room seats eight and the family is equipped with an Amazon Fire smart tv.

If you take the stairs from the front parlor, you will come to the original main bedroom, which has a king size bed, and a full bathroom across the landing. As you pass by you enter a large alcove we call The Rolling Seas room, which refers to the room's incline (old houses are funny like that). It's fitted with a twin-size day bed across from another Amazon Fire TV, so it can be used as a bedroom or a den for relaxing. Next to that room is another bedroom with a full-size bed. Down the hall in the addition are two more rooms; one with a queen bed and another with two twins. A full bath is right next to both rooms.
