If you’ve followed our page for any length of time, you know how special the Dolores River is to the Dove Creek Inn. It’s truly one of Colorado’s best hidden gems, and we center much of our tourism outreach around the incredible canyon that is literally just minutes from our front door.

This is a great informational video about the impacts of the Ferris Fire on the Dolores River Canyon. While the damage is heartbreaking, there is hope. Nature has an incredible way of healing, and we believe the canyon will recover and, in time, become even more beautiful than before.

We encourage you to take a few minutes to watch and learn more about this special place we are so fortunate to call our backyard. 💙🌿

If you know Billy, you know he loves horns and barnwood.

I'm pretty sure he's missed out on harvesting a few trophy animals over the years because he was too busy checking out an old piece of barnwood instead of looking for the critter whose tag was in his pocket!

Lucky for us, his obsession has turned into some incredible craftsmanship. Billy combines naturally shed antlers and reclaimed barnwood to create one-of-a-kind pieces that capture the spirit of the Southwest.

We're excited to announce that these handcrafted works of art are now available for purchase in the lobby at the Dove Creek Inn. Whether you're looking for a unique home decor or the perfect gift, stop in and take a look, you might just find the perfect piece to take home.

After weeks of chaos, a beautiful evening like this feels like a deep breathe that we all desperately needed. Grateful for the rain, the calm, and a moment of peace.

If this video isn't symbolic of the critical drought conditions we're facing, I don't know what is.

This was filmed on the West Rim near Secret Canyon Ranch, just north of Dove Creek, at a short-term rental owned by my parents and sister. A firefighting helicopter made several passes over the Dolores River, searching for a place to fill its bucket and help battle the fires. But there simply wasn't enough water—not even in the pools where water would normally remain.

It's a sobering reminder of just how severe the drought has become and the difficult conditions our firefighters are facing every day.

Please keep the firefighters, first responders, and everyone impacted by these fires in your thoughts and prayers. And let's all hope for the rain our land and farmers so desperately need.

Stay safe and stay strong, Dove Creek. Our community has weathered hard times before, and we'll get through this one together. Better days are ahead, and we'll emerge stronger than ever.

We had so much fun during Pick N Hoe that social media had to take a back seat for a few days—sorry about that! It was truly one for the books. This weekend is always a special reminder of what makes our little community so great: reconnecting with friends, celebrating together, and looking out for one another.

As we come down from the festivities, our hearts are with everyone affected by the wildfires across the region. If you have been evacuated or need a safe place to stay, the Dove Creek Inn has rooms available tonight and will be on call to help in any way we can. We are also offering deeply discounted rates to anyone displaced by the fires.

To the firefighters, first responders, and emergency personnel working around the clock to protect our communities—thank you. And to our neighbors facing uncertainty, please know that you're not alone. We're here if you need us. ❤️

Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone impacted by the wildfires burning across the Four Corners region, especially the brave firefighters and first responders working tirelessly to protect our communities.

To those on the front lines and to families who have been displaced, please know that the Dove Creek Inn is here to help in any way we can. Whether it's a place to rest, information about local resources, or simply a helping hand, our doors are open.

The Four Corners has always been a community that comes together during difficult times, and this is no exception. Stay safe, look out for one another, and please don't hesitate to reach out if we can be of assistance.

We love our TAT riders!

If you're not familiar with it, TAT stands for the Trans-America Trail, a legendary route that allows adventure riders to travel from North Carolina all the way to Oregon, primarily on dirt roads and backcountry trails.

Dove Creek is an important stop along that journey. By the time many of these riders roll into town, they've conquered some of the challenging mountain passes of the San Juan Mountains and are ready for a well-deserved rest.

We're always honored to provide a comfortable place to recharge before they continue their cross-country adventure. One of our favorite parts of owning the Dove Creek Inn is hearing the stories from travelers who are exploring America one mile at a time.

How do you know you're about to host an international traveler?

It's not their accent or their choice of shoes but the look in their eyes when they walk through our doors after experiencing the wide-open spaces, scenic backroads, and unforgettable landscapes of the American Southwest.

One of our favorite parts of running the Dove Creek Inn is hearing the stories of the people who pass through. We love sharing this special corner of the country with visitors from around the world and seeing our home through their eyes.

We're also proud to sit along the Western Express Bicycle Route, welcoming cyclists from near and far as they make their way across the country. These adventurers are accomplishing something most of us only dream about, and it's an honor to provide them with a comfortable place to rest, recharge, and continue their journey.

To all of our international guests and traveling cyclists: thank you for choosing Dove Creek Inn to be a small part of your adventure. Safe travels, we hope our paths cross again someday.
