The Donner Pass Summit Tunnles at Lake Tahoe are an amazing part of history and a beautiful hike. The tunnels were built by Chinese immigrants and completed in 1876 through freezing temperatures and took over 15 months. They are amazing to see and you can’t imagine how hard these immigrants had to work in not great conditions to bring them to life. When driving to North Lake Tahoe you can see them from the highway. This hike is about 25 minutes from our vacation rentals and a must on your Tahoe list.
