Oswego tea, scarlet bee balm, monarda, we have a patch here in the flower bed.
Bee balm is called Oswego tea because the Oswego Native American tribe, indigenous to upstate New York, taught early colonists how to brew the plant's aromatic leaves into an herbal drink.

When the Boston Tea Party caused a shortage of imported tea, colonists adopted it as a homegrown replacement. Drink up America!
