In 25 days, Dubuque County voters will see a $40 million Dubuque County Land and Water Legacy Bond Referendum on the ballot that supports trail connectivity, improved water quality in our rivers and streams, flood protection, nature education for all ages and abilities, improved and revitalized parks, and increased wildlife habitat. If approved, the average cost per homeowner with a home valued at $150,000 would be $36 per year.
During the month of October, we will be highlighting some of the initiatives developed from the newest Dubuque County Conservation Comprehensive Parks, Trails, and Open Spaces Plan. If the bond is funded, projects would be completed from this plan.

Have you heard? Swiss Valley Park and Mud Lake Park are planning on celebrating Halloween while camping! Typically campers decorate their RV's with Halloween decor and stock up on candy to hand out to the children camping. Mud Lake Park's Halloween weekend is September 21st and Swiss Valley Parks celebration is September 28th. There are some reservable campsites open at both of these campgrounds during their Halloween Celebrations. Pull out your decor and book your reservations today!

Input needed! Dubuque County Conservation is currently designing a new campground located at the Heritage Pond (red circle). We are aiming to put in over 20 electric 50 amp campsites with water. We need your help with a name for the campground! Do you have any suggestions? Please do comment below and let us know what ideas you have! This site use to be a Sageville Trailer Park. Maybe Dayton Campground, Sageville Campground, Heritage Campground, what do you think?

With the recent cool weather patterns Dubuque County Conservation is in the process of shutting off and winterizing all water in the campgrounds and shower buildings. However, this does not mean the parks are closed. Water can still be obtained at Swiss Valley Campground form two frost free hydrants.
