America is 250 years old! To celebrate, we want to giveaway an American Flag Minky blanket. We came across a post that really spoke to us and we wanted to share it with you.
on Instagram said this,
ā€œThis year we celebrate America’s 250th. And it has me thinking…We spend a lot of time talking about our rights, but we might be missing something. Our rights are so, so important to discuss and protect, please don’t get me wrong. But we don’t spend nearly as much time talking about our responsibilities. The Constitution protects our freedoms. But a document alone doesn’t keep a country strong. Its people do. The constitution can’t volunteer at your kids school. It can’t check on an elderly neighbor. It can’t welcome the new family down the street. It can’t coach or mentor kids in your neighborhood. It’s the ordinary people who matter. It’s you and me. It’s the ones who stay informed even when it’s hard. It’s the one who shows up at the town halls to speak up about issues they are passionate about. It’s the one who works to solve problems instead of just complain about them. We might not change the whole country. But we can change our corner in it. That’s how communities grow stronger. When we do our part, that’s how America thrives. Maybe citizenship isn’t just something we have, or something we think about every 4th of July. It’s something we practice- day in, day out, month after month, year after year. So for America’s 250th birthday, don’t just celebrate. Find one small way to strengthen your community. After all, WE have the ultimate responsibility for the success of our nation.ā€

Duchesne County is amazing because of all of you! Our community is better because of what you all contribute to it to make it great. To enter the giveaway please comment with one small way you will strengthen your community. Tag someone you see strengthening your community and give them a little shout out. Share this post to both your page and your story. Make sure it’s public so we can see it. For another chance to win, go enter the giveaway on our instagram page as well. We will draw on August 1st! Blankets can be picked up at the events center during fair week.

šŸļø Marina Monday 🌊

As we start to come into our busy, reservation, season, please remember we are training our new hires. They are training both at the main entrance booth and on maintenance! Times may take a little longer to come into the park and/or use a clean bathroom, but our seasonals are trying their best to learn fast and efficiently!

Now for the rundown:
-Slack-line Course is upšŸŽ‰
-Volleyball nets coming TOMORROW🄳🄳
-The Boat Ramp is open and all docks are in. The fishing pier is currently not-ADA/wheelchair accessible, repairs coming THIS WEEKšŸŽŠ, use at your own risk.
-Water temp is just over 58 degrees and the water level is 92%
-All campgrounds are open, they are just "not reservable" until May 15th. First-come first-serve walk-ins are welcome until the 15th
-Mountain View and Lower Beach campgrounds are fully open
-FYI: we share the beach camp ground and beach day-use area with a lot of geese this spring season. There will be goose droppings in the area (not dog). Staff does their best to keep the area clean, however it does not fully eliminate this occurrence.
-Fish Cleaning Station IS OPENšŸ¾
-Dump Station has water turned on.
-The park's archery course & disc golf course are open.
-Dumpsters are in their proper locations and upturnedšŸŽ‰
*ATTENTION BOATERS: some "Water Way Hazards" are currently unmarked, boat at your own risk.
-The beach area no-wake buoys will be put out in the next week or two.
