Enjoying March in Duck!

We're back! We have decided to rent with Beach Realty for several weeks this summer! Downtime Abbey - D3654

As much as we would like to spend more time in Duck in the summer we just get can't make it this year so we are offering it to our favorite guests!

The big change to the house is that the bedroom that had the twin beds now has a king bed instead! That room does share a tub bathroom with the bunk room so it is great family lay out.

We also have a new range with a double oven and built in air-fryer!

The outdoor shower has a new rainfall showerhead and a handheld to get the sand out of um... everywhere😆

2025 Updates

Okay. It's official. We aren't going to rent our home next year. It's time for us to sort of retire to Duck. We do love every family that has made this second home possible. Your kind words in our guest book and on-line were so appreciated. The kid critiques still make us laugh.

Each guest has given us a unique perspective. The "where did they put the dishes this time" question provided insight to family vacations. We have learned that there are the cooks who use every dish in the house (me) and the clean up crew who have no clue where the pots came from (remaining family 🤣)? Eventually we find our stuff and enjoy the surprise of finding odds and ends you left behind. Don't pay for the blinky cups from Sunset Grille and leave it behind.

No "down time" for us this week. Rebuilt the entrance to be more welcoming and to provide more shelter if it rains. Installed cabinets and counter tops in the laundry room. Added a gate on the top deck to keep the kids in (or out, your choice lol). Put the tv on the wall in the game room to increase surface space.

And added a wall of fish to the carport!

Enjoyed dinner at NC Coast this evening. It was 42 degrees in OBX and the patrons were dressed like it was a ski lodge!

We were lucky to find a few days to enjoy Duck again while we can pretend it is summer. Ophelia is long gone and all is well.
Thank you to our summer and early fall tenants for treating our home away from home so respectfully! After a rocky start this spring, we especially appreciated our guests who patiently dealt with the demise of the dishwasher in late August. When we learned the pump failed we ordered the replacement for the next day. As much as we love the vendors that support us, next day in OBX means next week in general :) ;) .
We have our eyes on 2024 and are truly excited to be working with BeachRealtyNC.com!
