Group hosting event to benefit children fighting cancer in Scott County. Details on Jeepin’ at the Tub below.
Kayden is one of the children who will be helped by the fundraiser.
This is what his mom shared about Kayden’s journey:
He was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma—intermediate risk—about six months ago. He has already gone through all eight rounds of chemotherapy and a successful surgery, but there are still cancer cells in his face and more spots around his abdomen. With the latest pathology results, the doctors have decided to start him on the high risk treatment plan instead. This means we are basically starting over, and Kayden has a very long road ahead of him.
This new treatment will begin with five rounds of more intense chemotherapy alongside a type of immunotherapy. After that, Kayden will need one or two bone marrow transplants, followed by about three weeks of radiation, and then around six months of immunotherapy to finish. I thought we were getting close to the end, but it turns out we have a lot more to face. My momma heart is shattered, but I am doing everything I can for my son. We have already been at St. Jude for six months, and I have done most of this on my own as a single mom.
This new treatment plan will keep us here for another year and a half, and I have no income to pay for bills or support both of us. Any donations given will be used to help cover bills and living expenses during this difficult time. Thank you so much for your support, prayers, and any help you can give.
