We live in a world where people think they’re entitled to do whatever they want, even when they’re in your place of business.
At Alpen Rose, we get told at least once a day (no exaggeration) how beautiful the park is or how it’s one of the best they’ve ever been to.
The reason for that is we’ve cultivated something special here, connected to the beautiful land we are on and the magical Animas Valley.
It won’t stay “the most gorgeous park” if we allow it to be an all-inclusive buffet.
You gotta have rules.
Values.
Standards.
And then you have to hold to those even when some pi**ed off Karen is in your reviews because she drove over your grass and thinks she is in the right 😂
That’s a whole other post though.
This winter I had a guest get completely triggered and fly off the handle at me because I wouldn’t allow their friend who was arriving in a septet to check in at 11pm.
11pm yall!!!
She threw every excuse and reason why they should be an exception to the rule, and then got nasty when I didn’t back down.
They proceeded to cut their reservation short and head to another RV park that’s corporate owned and probably does more people pleasing than us.
I even refunded the week they had booked. 👋🏼 Bye, Felicia
If you compromise on your park’s values and standards to try and please every single person ever, you will quickly alienate who you do want in your park.
It’s not about exclusivity. It’s about alignment.
That’s why we have loyal guests who came back again and again, as well as those who come once and dream about the day they come back.
It’s a VIBE. And know what ours is.
If it’s a match for you you’ll know as soon as you make the iconic turn into our drive and see the red rocks behind us. You’ll feel it.
And you’ll love the dark nights for star gazing, sleeping with the window open and no spot light shining in your face, and the QUIET that lets you rest up for your big Durango adventures (cause there’s a lot of them!).
Call us crazy, but maybe trying to do 8-11 hours drive in an RV through the mountains to cram in 1 day on the train in Durango, isn’t the best planning.
We invite you to come and STAY. Slow down. Take it easy. Be.
