My first impression: A place to restore my soul. Your generosity of spirit is felt in everything here at Mosswood Hollow ~ your gentle yet ever-present availability, delectable food so filled with love it is a gift & nourishment for all the senses, each room is furnished as if you were preparing it for your own family, the absolute beauty of this land is clearly respected and honored and enhanced, and you have a "homey" attention to detail that makes Mosswood Hollow feel like coming home to grandma's house. Now - the thing I want you to also know is that I am not always effusive, and rarely so thickly so. You all are by far the best retreat center I have ever been to. Each day here I have been moved by some aspect of how you provide and serve. Linda Freya

My first impression: That it really felt like a retreat center - a peaceful, beautiful getaway. The food was amazing - certainly didn't expect the level of care, creativity, warmth, etc. etc. Non of this felt "hokey", it was fabulous, everything. Tremendous value, very friendly people. My first impression: Awesome, beautiful, homey, lovely, spiritual, friendly

The environment was excellent. The house, windows, set up are all located superbly. The inside was very comfortable & the food & staff wonderful. Paul even turned our lights out for us - nice touch! I thought it would be less comfortable but everything was of high quality. 5 stars all the way! This is my kind of place. Thank you. Kathleen Passero

I have a bad habit of placing too high of expectation on a place or event that I am so much looking forward to. Rarely, are those expectations met let alone surpassed - AND THIS WAS Thank you so so so much. The ambiance, the food, the grounds, the sacredness. Muriel Powers

Dear Sandie & Paul
I had no idea that the two of you and Mosswood Hollow itself, would turn out to be so central to my experience. It wasn't only the luscious birthday cake that touched me tenderly. It wasn't just the joy of eating all those meals prepared so that I could enjoy every morsel. It wasn't only the deft organizational skills that made everything run so smoothly. Nor was it simply the incredibly reasonable rates that made it totally feasible. Besides all that, it was the two of you. It was your grace, your passion, your focus, your dedication, your love, your open hearts. . . Ilana Ferris

We came to live on this land, that we now call Mosswood Hollow, in May of 1983. Our intention was to create a safe, caring, and nurturing vessel for events that inspire emotional and spiritual growth and ultimately help make the world a better place.

With this pandemic, Mosswood Hollow has been closed for over six months. Without any workshop income, we have had to let our staff go. Gratefully, we have been staying afloat, thanks to our limited savings, unemployment pay, and a federal loan. Now, unemployment benefits are dwindling and we cannot count on another federal loan. We do not anticipate being able to reopen until at least May 2021, therefore…

Our goal is to raise enough funds to pay our mortgage ($4000/month) and our real estate taxes ($1500/month) for the next six months.

To meet these expenses, we are humbly calling on those of you who know us and value the work we are doing here to help ensure the future for Mosswood Hollow. We intend to see this through and we are eager to welcome people back as soon as it is safe to do so. If you are in a financial position to give us a hand and share this message, we would be most grateful. WE ARE ALREADY MORE THAN THREE-QUARTERS OF THE WAY THERE. Heartfelt thanks for the support we have received from so many of you.

We have been working hard during this time to attend to general maintenance, to the many repairs we previously have not had time to do, and to a few long-awaited improvements so that when you return, Mosswood will be even more welcoming, inspiring, and nurturing.

With gratitude,
Sandie, Paul, and Shepard
