Wildlife researchers estimate:
• ~700 moose total in Adirondack Park today. 
• The majority live in the northeastern Adirondacks (Franklin, Essex, Clinton counties).
• The western Adirondacks — including the Beaver River / Stillwater area — likely hold only about 10–15% of the park’s moose.

That suggests roughly 70–100 moose across the entire western Adirondacks.

That sounds small, but it actually means your region does have a resident population.
I haven’t actually seen a moose in Beaver River in a few years but we see lots of tracks!

Looking very spring like…until Thursday’s weather arrives!

Went down to see what the lake looked like…almost got stuck a couple of times and I wasn’t even on the actual lake. We will see what things look like after 3 days of 50’s. I guess it also depends on when they close the gates and the water starts coming up. Here’s to cold temps and more snow by the weekend!
