A winter storm is expected to bring *multiple rounds* of precipitation to the state Monday and Tuesday. The greatest chance of notable snowfall accumulations currently appears to be centered over the northern half of the state. Travel may be difficult at times across Wisconsin Monday morning through Wednesday morning. The forecast is still not entirely certain, so keep an eye out for further updates.
TIMING: Multiple waves of precipitation are expected. The first round is currently expected to begin moving into northern Wisconsin around daybreak Monday morning (this will be mainly snow). More widespread precipitation is expected to develop across much of the state by late Monday afternoon (snow for most, mix-bag south). The final round of precipitation is expected to occur for much of the day Tuesday (again snow for most, mix south).
IMPACTS: Travel may be hazardous and difficult at times Monday morning through Wednesday morning as a result of heavy snow and blowing/drifting of snow.
FORECAST DISCUSSION: Currently, lee cyclogenesis is ongoing in northwestern British Columbia. This low pressure will swing southeastward towards Wisconsin over the weekend and be centered near Duluth around 12z Sunday. As a result, some light snowfall will be possible Sunday northeast of I94.
