The trenchless industry lost an influential figure with the passing of Leo Barbera on October 6, 2026.

Throughout his career, Leo helped advance the auger boring industry through his work as the founder of American Augers. His contributions went beyond manufacturing equipment, helping provide the experience, resources, and opportunities that allowed others to find success and establish their own place in the industry.

One of those individuals was his younger brother, Jim Barbera, whose early career at American Augers would eventually lead him to establish Barbco in 1989.

Leo’s legacy can be seen not only in the advancements he helped bring to the industry, but also in the many people and businesses whose paths were shaped by his efforts.

At Trenchless Rental Solutions, we recognize and appreciate the contributions of those who helped build the industry we serve today. Leo was undoubtedly one of those individuals, and his influence will continue to be felt for years to come.

We extend our heartfelt sympathies to Leo’s loved ones and everyone whose life he touched.

Rest in peace, Leo Barbera.

TRS had a great time stopping by Plain Local’s Touch-A-Truck event this past week! 🚛

We brought out the flatbed with a few pieces of equipment for the preschoolers to check out — along with plenty of candy, pencils, and stickers to hand out. ✏️

Our Sales Manager, Jimmy Barbera, also joined the crew with two of his own “Little Eagles” along for the day.
