The Mountain Pine property and the town of East Glacier lost a lot of trees this week after the area was hit with days of up to 100 mph gusts of wind paired with wet, soggy ground. Thankfully the structural damage to buildings is minimal, but as tree lovers, we are feeling pretty sad about losing some of these giants. We will have it cleaned up before the beginning of the 2026 season — but there is a lot of work ahead until then!

🎉 We’re back! The Mountain Pine is officially open for the season (okay, we’ve been open for a while now…but we’re finally posting about it 😄).

Even better—Going-to-the-Sun Road opens Monday!

I think we could all use some time surrounded by beauty, fresh air, and wild places. There’s no place like Glacier to reset the soul.

Make sure to get your vehicle reservation at recreation.gov before heading up. We can’t wait to see your happy faces this summer!

Only one more week is left of our 2024 season! It was another amazing year thanks to all of our awesome guests and excellent employees. Come see us and the beautiful fall colors on the east side before we close! Otherwise, we can’t wait to see you next year✌️

We opened for the season 10 days ago (we’ve been so busy we forgot to post!). We have already been enjoying seeing many of you visiting the beautiful east side! Two Medicine is open and Going-to-the-Sun is getting closer to opening every day. We are so excited for the 2024 season and can’t wait to see more of your faces soon!

Happy New Year! Here’s an update on vehicle reservations for Glacier National Park in 2024:

Passes go on sale at recreation.gov Thursday, January 25 at 8 am. No reservations will be required for Two Medicine or Going-to-the-Sun from St. Mary in 2024. Going-to-the-Sun Road from the west side, North Fork Road, and Many Glacier will require vehicle reservations.

Reservations will be staggered by day—so purchase your pass 120 days before the date you plan to be in that part of the park. Going-to-the-Sun and North Fork Roads require vehicle reservations starting May 25, and Many Glacier on July 1. All three areas will continue to require reservations until September 8. Passes are required from 6 am to 3 pm each day.

One of our favorite animals to see in the park is the beautiful and powerful moose! We saw this cow moose in Two Medicine recently and enjoyed watching her eat mountain ash (from a distance!). They may seem friendly, but cows like her can be very defensive of their calves, which you don’t always see underneath the brush. Always keep at least 25 yards away from these gigantic ungulates!

Beginning September 10 at 3 p.m., vehicle reservations will no longer be required to access Glacier National Park, so you can come visit without as much advanced planning! The colors are just starting to change and we have enjoyed a lot of rain, so it’s going to be a gorgeous autumn🍁

Did you miss out on getting a ticket to Two Medicine when they were on sale this spring? Good news! The entire month of July there have been many day-before tickets available to the Two Medicine entrance. If you log on to recreation.gov at or after 8 am the day before your visit, you’re extremely likely to be able to get into this beautiful part of the park. Hope to see you here!

All of the rain we’ve been getting has been a bummer for a lot of visitors to the area, but the flowers around East Glacier are phenomenal right now as a result! Take a look down on your rainy-day hikes and you won’t be disappointed 🌼🌸🪻
