Our next training starts in less than 2 weeks in Calgary Treaty 7!

Join us for an in-person, 2 day training at the Blackfoot Confederacy Jan 22 & 23 for Cultural Humility.

Facilitators; Souta Calling Last (Blackfeet & Blood Tribe) & Melissa Spence (Anishinaabe Nation/Lake Manitoba First Nation)

Can’t make it in person? Join our upcoming virtual Cultural Humility training from February 17, 18, 24, & 25.

We meet virtually on zoom for 2.5 hours each day (9-11:30am MDT) and will complete the cultural humility train the trainer curriculum developed by Dr. Melanie Tervalon & Dr. Jann Murray-Garcia.

Attendees must register and participle through all scheduled dates to receive their certificates of completion and all training materials to continue the practice of cultural humility.

We invite you to wear orange that day as an expression of solidarity with those who mourn the children that were taken away from their homes.

Lets ride! The response to Fire in the Mountains 2025 has been overwhelmingly epic. As we put all the pieces together for the next era of FITM, we are offering a pre-registration program. The registration will give you access to tickets, limited and exclusive add-ons, and more!

Along with the registration, we are asking you to participate in a brief survey. This survey will help us to create an even better festival in 2026 - I know - how much better could it get, right?

In 2022, groundbreaking DNA research confirmed what the Blackfeet Nation had long known: their ancestors have inhabited Montana for an astonishing 18,000 years, long before any written records existed. Genetic analysis traced continuous lineage in the region, validating oral histories passed down through generations.

This discovery highlights the deep connection between the Blackfeet people and their ancestral lands, providing scientific recognition of their enduring presence and cultural heritage. Experts say it also reshapes our understanding of human migration in North America, showing that Indigenous communities maintained stable settlements far earlier than previously documented.
