This Airbnb was easily the best weekend vacation I've had in a long long time. The stay VASTLY exceeded mine and my girlfriend's expectations for a multitude of reasons and I would recommend this destination to anyone. “What a wonderful escape! My husband and I spent two nights on Birch Island and enjoyed every minute. Wendy and Jeff were amazingly hospitable -- picking us up and dropping us off at convenient times. We were ready with most of our camping gear, much of which we didn't need given how well-stocked and complete the collection of goodies were at the site. There is plenty to do, and Jeff and Wendy have set up the place with adventure in mind. They forged an incredible trail along Duck Cove (marked with pink flamingos) to an overlook rock, which also doubles as a great place to swim on warm days. We also completed the rest of the Cross Island Trail (orange blazes), which traverses the island west to east. Along the east side, there are also red/pink blazes that take you to a beach at the NE corner of the island. Not all of this is well-traveled, but worth the pursuit. Our favorite adventure was circumnavigating the island by kayak, with a stop for icecream at the marina (s'mores icecream was our favorite!). This is possible if you time your trip with the tide and don't take a leisurely paddle (a 2.25 hour trip for us). We loved our stay and highly recommend to anyone looking for an adventure!”
