Nobody warns you that building something from scratch means tearing it apart at least once first. We had to redo the walls. It was frustrating. Then we just... got to work.

There's something about painting next to your person — no talking, just moving — that makes the hard days worth it. Turns out a roller and a bucket of paint is better therapy than anything paid for.

Floors are next. We're not stopping.

These walls...

Not everything goes the way you plan it. Sometimes things have to fall apart before they can come together.

Thank goodness for two people who stepped up — without asking for much, without making it a big thing — and fixed every bit of it. I can't say much more than that in an Instagram caption. No words and just beyond grateful. You know who you are. We see you. We don't forget. 🖤

Took a Sunday and remembered that Ohio actually gets sunshine. ☀️

Long ride out to East Liverpool. Stopped at the Point of Beginning — the literal spot where the United States started surveying its public land in 1785. Three states meet right there. History carved into stone. We're building 10 minutes from a place like that and half the time we forget to look up from the to-do list.

Our brother stepped in and helped take this porch roof from “in progress” to something that actually feels complete and cozy.

What started as a pile of boards and a vision is now a space you can stand under and feel it all coming together. There’s something different about building like this — with family, with people who actually care, and with our own hands on every detail. We’re beyond grateful for the help, the time, and the skill that went into this. It doesn’t go unnoticed.

Little by little, it’s becoming exactly what we imagined.

Everyone loves the finished Airbnb photos…
But this is the part nobody shows.

Unfinished drywall. Empty rooms. Stacks of materials and a whole lot of decisions.

We didn’t buy something perfect —
we’re building it.

We picked up this incredible piece from — local artwork by Tim Slaven featuring the historic Chester Bridge.

Built in 1896, this bridge has connected East Liverpool, Ohio to Chester, West Virginia for generations—and it’s such a powerful symbol of this area’s history and grit. This is exactly the kind of piece we want in the Airbnb… not mass-produced, not generic—just real, local stories woven into the space.

Can’t wait to get this hung up and share a little piece of East Liverpool with every guest who walks through the door... And yes — the bag came home with us too 👀

Late nights, rain on the window, and the man I get to build this life with still putting in the work.
This project has tested our patience, our budget, and our sanity more than once… but moments like this remind me why we started.

Not everyone gets a partner who shows up like this.

I’m really grateful for mine. 🤍

Some nights we pull up and see the lights glowing through the trees, and it stops us for a second.

Not because it’s finished.
Not because everything is perfect yet.
But because it finally feels like a place.

Soon those same lights will be welcoming people in for quiet mornings, slow evenings on the porch, and the kind of stays where you actually get to breathe.

We’re getting closer every day. 🤍

Some drives feel different than others...

This one always carries a mix of excitement, nerves, and that quiet feeling of "we’re really doing this."

Every trip out here means a little more progress, a few more decisions, and one step closer to opening the doors and welcoming people in.
The Bungalow is coming together — slowly, intentionally, and with a lot of heart. 🤍
