Today, the Federation of Southern Cooperatives/Land Assistance Fund offices throughout the Southern Region are closed as we honor and reflect on the life, legacy, and enduring impact of Malcolm X. He challenged systems of injustice while encouraging Black communities to build power, protect their communities and rights, and strengthen their futures through education, economic independence, and collective action.

We also recognize the continued importance of advocacy, community leadership, and the ongoing pursuit of justice for all.

Protect your land. Protect your legacy.

We’re hosting Wills and Estate Planning Clinics in South Carolina this March for Black farmers and landowners.

Access to trusted and affordable legal assistance in rural communities remains a challenge. These clinics help reduce barriers by connecting participants with guidance, preparation support, and referrals to trusted attorneys. Participants can receive support around the broader estate planning process, from wills to other tools that help protect land, assets, and family legacy.

Pre-registered participants will receive assistance from our Land Retention team in preparing the information needed for estate planning documents in their state and may have the opportunity to meet with volunteer attorneys on-site to discuss next steps.

📍 March 26 | McCormick, SC
📍 March 27 | Hemingway, SC
📍 March 28 | St. Helena Island, SC

A powerful recap from the Georgia Farmers Conference 🌾 We gathered with our members, and partners for meaningful dialogue, membership education, and connection, strengthening networks that sustain our rural communities.

Members also made their concerns known around ongoing setbacks and current outcomes for socially disadvantaged farmers. We stand firm in our commitment to protecting funding and expanding possibilities for farmers, landowners, and cooperatives.
