MR. JOHNNY FRED WEEKS, age 84, of Eastman, GA, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2024, at Memorial Hospital in Savannah, GA.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00PM Monday, April 8, at Orphans Cemetery, with Dr. Jerry Peele officiating.

Johnny was born in Eastman, GA to the late Miller Weeks and Pearl Williams Weeks. He grew up in the home of his beloved grandparents, Harrison and Maggie Weeks. From an early age they taught him the importance of trusting Christ and looking to the Holy Bible for guidance. They also instilled in him the importance of honesty, respect for his fellow man, and the value of working hard.

Johnny served honorably in the United States Army. After being discharged from the Army, he moved to Houston County, GA. While living in Houston County, he owned Easy Rider Stables and was active in the Quarter Horse Association. He enjoyed competing in horse shows, especially when exhibiting the horse he had personally trained. He coached his sons little league football and baseball teams. He became a friend and mentor to many of the boys on those teams. He loved to share stories of past experiences; his own and those of his friends and relatives. Amusing stories that were embellished every time he retold them. Johnny was employed at Robins AFB for thirty years. Upon retirement, he moved back to Dodge County. He always appreciated Classic Cars and pursued his hobby of restoring cars. He loved competing in shows and judging shows. Johnny was of the Baptist Faith. As long as his health permitted, he was in attendance at Eastman First Baptist Church. He was an active Mason and Shriner as well as a dedicated husband and father. He loved his immediate and extended family. He was a loyal friend. His love for Christ was evident in the way he lived his life. In addition to his parents and grandparents, Johnny was preceded in death by his Brothers, Ralph Weeks, Robert Weeks, Charles Weeks, and Jimmy Weeks.

He is survived by his Wife of 63 years – Joy Cherry Weeks of Eastman, GA; Son – Dallas Weeks of Eastman, GA; Brothers – Lynn Weeks and John Paul Jones (a cousin he loved like a brother); His extended family, the Jones Family; Several Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.
