Dark Dinner returns to Hummingbird Inn on Saturday, October 17.
Imagine sitting down to dinner—and then the lights disappear.
No menus to study. No beautifully plated food to see. Instead, you'll experience a specially created four-course dinner served entirely in darkness, where taste, aroma, texture and even the conversations around the table suddenly take on a whole new dimension.
It’s part dinner, part sensory adventure—and unlike any other dining experience on the Eastern Shore.
Your evening begins at 5 PM at Charm Bar, where you can enjoy a cocktail and meet the other guests who will be sharing the experience with you. At 6 PM sharp, we'll move together to the dining room, where everyone will be seated, and we'll explain how the evening will unfold, how you'll be served, and what to expect once dinner begins.
And then…the lights go out.
From that moment forward, you'll experience four courses in complete darkness. Our team—equipped with night-vision technology—will guide you through the meal while you discover just how differently food tastes when your eyes are taken completely out of the equation.
And the menu?
That's staying in the dark, too. 😉
After dinner, the lights return for the reveal, when we'll finally tell you exactly what you've been eating and give everyone a chance to compare discoveries, surprises and probably a few very wrong guesses.
An optional curated four-wine pairing will also be available, with each wine selected specifically for the evening's courses.
