🌿 A new chapter is beginning at Hidden Valley!

We’re so excited to officially introduce ourselves as the new owners of Hidden Valley Wilderness Retreat!

First, we want to recognize Denise and Stan Wood and the incredible place they created. Their vision and years of care made Hidden Valley the special escape it is today, and we feel incredibly lucky to carry that forward.

And we have some exciting things ahead. ✨

🍂 Hidden Valley will now be open year-round!
🏡 We’ll be expanding Hidden Valley with luxury cabins, in addition to the treehouses and suites you already know and love!
🌿 We’ll be making updates, improvements & creating new experiences!

But the heart of Hidden Valley isn’t changing.

The trees. The trails. The quiet. The feeling of escaping from everyday life for a little while. That’s the magic we fell in love with, too.

Some places become more than a destination—they become part of a family’s story. ❤️

This is Graham’s Treehouse, named after our son, Graham. While we explored many names while building, none ever felt quite right. In the end, the name that belonged was the one that had been part of our family all along.

As a boy, Graham & his siblings spent countless hours in their beloved three-story backyard treehouse in Shawnee, Kansas. We never imagined that those childhood adventures would one day inspire one of the most cherished treehouses at Hidden Valley Wilderness Retreat.

Today, seeing Graham standing in front of his treehouse with his wife, Morgan, their precious 9-month-old son, and their sweet Golden girl, Nala, is a full-circle moment we’ll always treasure. In another photo, we’re honored to join him—three generations connected by a dream that began in a backyard treehouse.

Graham also helped design the custom crest displayed at the treehouse, thoughtfully incorporating symbols that represent his life, passions, and journey. It’s a meaningful piece that makes this place even more special to our family.

As Stan and I reflect on this incredible journey and 10th retreat anniversary, our hearts are filled with gratitude. To every guest who chose Hidden Valley Wilderness Retreat for a getaway, anniversary, honeymoon, celebration, or quiet escape—thank you. Thank you for trusting us with your memories, for supporting our dream, and for becoming part of the Hidden Valley family.

Your kindness, encouragement, and stories have meant more to us than words can express. We will forever cherish the friendships made and the memories shared in this peaceful little valley.

Congratulations to Carlee Anne McEvoy in making the Dean’s List again! Carlee Anne has been a big part our the retreat housekeeping team for several years. When given a task - consider it done! She is like family. Funny, willing to help in a pinch and a cleaning wizard! She and Rhiannyn have been the Dynamic Duo. We feel like proud parents!! Carlee Anne will be/is an ahhhhmazing teacher!
