Couples Weekend at Cold River Campground is coming up! Saturday June 27
There’s something special about couples who camp together.
Not just the “we booked a weekend away” kind of special. We’re talking about the couples who arrive together, unpack together, cook together, sit by the fire together, walk the campground together, and somehow still want to sit next to each other after spending the entire day within 12 feet of one another.
That’s love.
Or a very impressive lack of personal space issues.
Camping has a way of bringing couples closer. Maybe it’s the slower pace. Maybe it’s the fresh air. Maybe it’s the shared mission of figuring out where the flashlight went even though one of you definitely just had it.
Whatever it is, campground couples know the truth: time together at camp just feels different.
At home, life is busy. There are errands, bills, laundry, work, appointments, and the never-ending question of what’s for dinner. At camp, things get simpler. Coffee tastes better. Dinner can be cooked over a fire. Sitting quietly together counts as an activity. And nobody looks at you funny if your biggest plan for the day is “walk to the store, then come back and sit down again.”
That’s the magic.
Camping couples also develop their own little traditions. Morning coffee outside. Evening walks around the campground. Card games at the picnic table. Splitting a dessert even though one of them said they “weren’t really hungry.” Sitting by the fire long after the flames have turned to coals because neither one wants to be the person who says it’s time to go in.

And honestly, that’s a pretty great vacation.
