The floor plan works great for families or couples, and particularly well for extended/multiple families vacationing together. Two of the bedrooms open onto the deck for spectacular sunrise vistas. The home sits on an expansive stretch of pristine Edisto Beach, and is closer to the water than the surrounding homes, giving it unobstructed panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean. Guests have compared the views through the sliding glass doors as looking like you're on a ship. The deck even extends over the beach, so guests love setting up chairs on the sand under the deck for a shady beach experience. And we are located just a short walk from the pavilion/pier, shopping and restaurants. This home now has a hot tub, nestled under the house on the beach side with views of the ocean from the tub. So… on the beach, sand comes and goes. It’s always changing. This past weekend at Edisto, I discovered the tree by our house nearly covered with sand deposited from the dune erosion from the recent king tides. I suspect it will have reappeared the next time I visit, but I’m glad I photographed it when I did earlier last month!

I always enjoy adding something new to our beach house. Did we need a pair of antique looking marine navigation lights… absolutely not. But I’ve always wanted a set like this since seeing similar things in seafood restaurants as a child. I love them. ;)

Here's a first look at my newest Edisto illustration. It's based on a photo I took earlier in September of a tree on the beach by our beach house, High Tide. I'm thinking "Sea Turtle Tree" for the title. Let me know what y'all think.
Prints will be available soon on my website, and at the Edisto Art Gallery.

Turtle time! This nest hatched a few days ago, and the patrol returned this evening to inventory the nest. Sadly, a lot of unhatched or empty eggs, but they did find and release three stragglers!
