🎣 Get Ready for Fall Trout Fishing in West Virginia! 🍂

Whether you are a seasoned angler or new to the sport, fall is a great time to go fishing in West Virginia. During the weeks of October 19 and October 26, select streams and lakes will be stocked with large, catchable-size trout. The state will be stocking more than 40,000 pounds of trout—including rainbow, golden rainbow, brown, tiger, and brook trout weighing 1 to 2 pounds—across about 40 lakes and streams.

🎣Shavers Fork: Right at our doorstep! This river is one of the highest rivers in the eastern United States, making it an ideal trout water. During fall trout stocking, Shavers Fork is stocked in Bemis, the upper section in the Cheat WMA, and the 7.28-mile lower section between Bowden and Elkins.

🎣Blackwater River: A 7.33-mile section located in the Otter Creek WMA is an ideal trout stream for people who want to enjoy a fall getaway.

🎣Elk River: This 21.7-mile section is remote and pristine, featuring plenty of large pools, small waterfalls, runs, and access points.
