Right across the water, you can peer straight down into Thurmond, a famous, historic coal-mining town that is now a peaceful ghost town with only a few residents.

The overlook features a spacious wooden viewing deck that makes it incredibly easy to soak in the scenery. It is the perfect spot for photography, a quiet picnic, or watching the sunset. The location is open year-round, turning into a sea of bright green in the summer and spring.

You can find this picturesque spot right on Concho Road in Minden, resting on property managed by ACE Adventure Resort. Best of all, it requires almost zero effort to reach. You can drive your vehicle right up to the area or take a flat, effortless 0.3-mile stroll from the parking lot. "Springs here boys!"

BREAKING: West Virginia officials have confirmed that the state’s most wanted groundhog has officially escaped custody and is now on the run through the hills. Witnesses say he was last seen scurrying down a backroad like he just heard somebody yell, “Spring’s here, boys!”
After weeks of bad forecasts, false hope, and weather that felt personally disrespectful, the fugitive fuzzball has apparently had enough. For the first time in six weeks… he’s not digging in anymore. He’s digging out and making a full Appalachian getaway.
Authorities are currently in pursuit, but admit the suspect may be hard to catch due to his knowledge of mountain terrain, abandoned sheds, and every patch of roadside brush between here and the next holler.
Locals say if you see him, do not approach. He is considered small, fast, and emotionally dangerous.
