The Historic Wolf Hotel is a hotel and event center that is also home to The Underground Saloon open on weekends. We offer an event venue for parties, weddings or any other celebration. We have a bed and breakfast style hotel upstairs, we offer tours of the building, comedy shows, and other local events.

👋 New Here? Meet Paula—our resident multitasker!

Over the past few weeks, we’ve been introducing you to some of the people behind the Historic Wolf Hotel, and this week it’s time to meet Paula! ❤️

“Multitasker” might actually be an understatement. Paula is one of those people who helps keep everything moving—from checking in guests to preparing the wine and beautiful flower bouquets waiting in rooms for special stays and celebrations. 🍷💐

But most importantly, Paula helps make sure every guest who walks through our doors feels welcomed, cared for, and leaves with a positive experience.

At a historic hotel, there are always a hundred little things happening behind the scenes—and Paula seems to have a hand in just about all of them!

We’re so thankful to have her as part of the Wolf Hotel family. If you see Paula on your next visit, be sure to say hello! 😊

🎃 A Little Halloween Heads-Up from the Historic Wolf Hotel! 👻

Spooky season is coming to the Wolf Hotel! If you’re planning a stay with us or an Underground Tunnel Tour this October, we want you to know that things may look a little more haunted than usual. 🕸️

As we get ready for Halloween, the hotel lobby and areas of the Underground tunnels will be decorated for the season with Halloween décor all of October.

We know some guests absolutely LOVE the spooky atmosphere, while others may prefer to experience the hotel and tunnels without the Halloween decorations. We wanted to give everyone an early heads-up so you can plan your visit and book accordingly.

After all, when you’re exploring tunnels beneath a historic Kansas hotel, sometimes it doesn’t take much to make things feel a little spooky! 👀

If you’ve stayed at the Historic Wolf Hotel, there’s a good chance you’ve experienced a little of Tanya’s handiwork—and maybe her warm personality, too!

Tanya is one of those special people who makes everyone feel welcome. She works hard behind the scenes to keep our historic hotel looking its best, but she’s also always ready with a smile, a helping hand, or an answer when a guest needs something.

Keeping a historic hotel beautiful takes plenty of care, and Tanya puts her heart into making sure our guests feel comfortable and at home from the moment they arrive. ❤️

We’re pretty lucky to have her as part of the Wolf Hotel family!

👋 New here? Meet Chris, the owner of the Historic Wolf Hotel!

Back in 2013, Chris took a chance on a piece of Ellinwood history when he purchased the Historic Wolf Hotel with a vision: bring this incredible building back to life and restore it to its former beauty.

What followed has been years of hard work, restoration, preservation, and plenty of surprises along the way! Today, the Wolf Hotel is once again a place where people can stay, gather, explore, and experience a piece of Kansas history firsthand.

For Chris, it’s about more than owning an old hotel. It’s about preserving the stories within these walls and making sure this special piece of Ellinwood’s past is here for generations to come.
