Many are asking, when will the tart cherries blossom? It’s still quite early to have an exact time but right now our estimate is sometime between 5/15-5/25 beginning in the southern (Sturgeon Bay) orchards and moving north over the course of several days.

This photo is where the buds are looking as now. The next month is the most critical time as frost can damage the buds and then fruit won’t be produced. Our hearts are heavy for many of our fellow orchard growers in our nation who have already suffered from severe frost damage. One night is all it can take to ruin an entire year. Many times of the year, and especially this time, being a fruit grower can mentally and emotionally take a toll. So, with that being said, say a prayer that we are able to get through the next month without frost ☀️
