Some free concerts on the square in Ellsworth this summer. A good variety of music nearby. Additionally, Thursday nights in July, East Jordan Community band has concerts in their park and beginning June 30, for 8 Tuesdays, Charlevoix City Band performs at 8 pm, rehearsals on stage at 6:30 pm.

Repairs are completed on the cottages following the severe flooding in mid- April. What a nightmare it has been! More than six weeks of hard work and repairs! We are tired but we are happy to report no reservations were canceled! Let summer vacations begin! Speaking of vacations, we do have a vacancy June 20-27 and several others in August! Give us a call! 📞

This is a post that I copied from Six Mile Lake Association page. Water levels are terribly high and we have had 4” of rain in three days so level is still climbing. Not at all what we have needed after investing at least $50k in our cottages over the past 35 days!

Hello Lake Friends! Here is an update from Cherie Hogan:

To Six Mile Lake Property Owners,

The water level on Six Mile Lake is critically high, with all shorelines underwater due to over four inches of rain in recent days. Six Mile lake cannot drain properly as all other lakes on the Chain remain critically high as well. There simply is nowhere for the water to go. All of the gates at the Bellaire Dam remain wide open. As of this writing the dock at Echo Twp Park still is not in. Almost 80% of docks and shore stations are not in yet. Some docks and other items that floated away during the spring flooding still have not been recovered. I wish I had better news but it will take at least four weeks without rain to see a significant decrease in the lake level. For now, the best we can do is try to minimize shoreline damage by staying out in the middle of the lake while traveling under full power allowing wakes to dissipate somewhat before reaching shore or go at no wake speed when closer to shorelines. With two public accesses here and the holiday weekend upon us it is all we can do.

As a reminder, the first Six Mile Lake Association meeting of the year is Saturday, June 13th at 10am at the Pleasant Valley Free Methodist Church at the south end of Six Mile Lake Road. It is a breakfast/brunch so bring a dish to pass and your own table service. The Association provides coffee and juice. Leslie Meyers, Antrim County Operator of Dams, will be our guest speaker at 11am. She will give an update on the flooding and next steps at the dam. In short, if the water levels remain this high expect even worse flooding next spring without improvements of the dam system in the Chain. This may be a meeting you don't want to miss.
