Today marks our 12th anniversary as owners of Chapel Valley Estate! This year we didn’t do anything special to celebrate, but last month, we had a granddaughter’s overnighter and then a grandson’s overnighter, so here’s a short video to help us celebrate!

Happy 4th of July! Happy 250th birthday USA! Enjoy your day/weekend! Where and when was your favorite 4th of July celebration? Pittsburgh is to have 4 times the the fireworks tonight in celebration of 250 years! Our best celebration was in Groton, CT, years ago at a submarine reunion at the sub base! Last night we went to New Wilmington at Westminster College. It’s always been great with the River City Band performing and the fireworks across the lake. It was one of the shortest due to the storm coming in fast! Tell us your stories!

It was great to have Jim & Donna stay with us on their way out to Pontiac, MI for the 100 year anniversary celebration of Pontiac and also on their return trip back home to New Jersey. The wind took two trees down on Sunday. Today, shortly before 3 PM our power went out… on such a calm day. Yep, another tree, this time in the woods, but fell the wrong direction!

Such a nice wind came through on Sunday (6/14/26) and brought a couple of trees down, one onto the driveway, and another one in the yard. Fortunately and thankfully no one was near the trees and no damage to buildings or vehicles.

Many thanks to our neighbor, Bob, our son-in-law and two of our grandsons, we managed to get most of it cleaned up and the driveway open! Once I get the new chain and a sharpener, we’ll attempt to make it pretty again!

We even made it on WPXI news Sunday night!
