It's time for your Week 3 Fall Foliage Report! 🍁🍂

While heavy rain knocked down some leaves, chilly nights recently sped up the color change in many Pennsylvania forests. The cooler weather expected this weekend will help bring out even brighter fall colors across the state.

With beautiful shades showing up everywhere now, it’s a great time to get outside and enjoy the stunning fall scenery in the Keystone State!

Free menstrual products, including pads and tampons, are available in many state park offices, visitor centers, and environmental education centers.

DCNR will be releasing water from Lake Nockamixon into Tohickon Creek in Bucks County on Saturday and Sunday, November 7-8.

The releases will provide Class 3 and 4 whitewater boating conditions downstream through Ralph Stover State Park from 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. each day.

This year we renamed all of our overnight facilities - so the cabins and cottages that used to be numbered are now named after different animals.

Our staff thought it would be fun to make the inside of each cabin and cottage themed with its animal. So we have been making curtains!! French Creek has 9 cabins and 3 cottages, and after working on it over the last two weeks we have one cabin and one cottage done. 🥴

We decided we could use some help. If you or anyone you know likes to sew, measure and cut fabric, or fold and iron fabric, come sit with us on October 23rd from 10-2! We'll have coffee and tea, and next time you stay in a cabin you'll be able to say you made those curtains!

A reminder that dumping yard waste, tree limbs, and other trash or biodegradable materials on state park (and forest) land is not permitted. These materials may contain invasive species, insects, and/or disease that can be harmful to Pennsylvania's public lands.

Anyone caught illegally dumping on state park or forest land will be cited, ordered to clean it up, and/or ordered to complete additional community service.

If you witness someone littering or suspicious activity within a state park or forest, please contact the park/forest office or a DCNR ranger.

Ready to ride your favorite trails this fall? Be safe—don’t forget your helmet!

Don't forget: Pennsylvania state law requires all bicyclists under the age of 12 to wear an approved helmet. Helmets must be worn level and snug on top of the head with the chin strap securely fastened.

Reminder that hunting is allowed on ALL Sundays in French Creek this year!

Whether you're hunting or hiking, be sure to wear orange while you're out on the trails 👀

This year, Sundays mean more than just football. 🏈

It’s all about more opportunities for hunters to get out and enjoy Penn’s Woods this fall.

Hunters are reminded that Sunday hunting has expanded, and all hunting seasons, except for migratory game bird, include all Sundays within them.

If a Sunday falls within the season opening and closing dates, you can hunt it!

We hope you can get out and enjoy the new opportunities before you and hunt safely this fall. Thanks for being a Pennsylvania hunter.

As the summer season winds down, the French Creek Pool schedule will be updated to the following hours.

August 17-23: open normal pool hours
August 24-28: closed
August 29-30: open normal pool hours
August 31-September 4: closed
September 5-7: open normal pool hours
September 8: closed for the season! 🍁

We are excited to announce that French Creek and March Creek are now listed in the All Roads Taken Adventure Passport app! Join the Pennsylvania State Parks challenge and look out for more park specific challenges in the future!

And if you collect the Adventure Badges, make sure to stop by the French Creek park office to add French Creek and Marsh Creek's badges to your collection!

After a long wait, the French Creek pool will finally be open for the season starting TOMORROW, June 28th!!!! 💦

The hours will be 11am-6:45pm on weekends, and 11am-5:45pm on weekdays. The pool will be closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
