🌲✨ Happy New Year from Lodge of Whispering Pines & Echo Trail Outfitters ✨🌲

As we welcome a new year, we’re taking a moment to reflect on a season of growth, hard work, and meaningful progress here in the Northwoods.

This past year brought several milestones we’re proud of:
🌞 Our first full year with solar, improving reliability and sustainability at the lodge
🛶 The acquisition of Echo Trail Outfitters, allowing us to expand our canoe outfitting services and better support Boundary Waters adventures
🏡 Major renovations to our Evergreen Cabin, inside and out, thoughtfully refreshed to add comfort and functionality while preserving its classic Northwoods character

We’re also proud to remain pet-friendly, because lake and wilderness adventures are better when the whole family comes along 🐾. Looking ahead, 2026 may include a limited winter season, offering guests a quieter, snow-covered way to experience Big Lake, the surrounding forest, and Ely winters.

From canoe launches and BWCA entry points to cozy cabin spaces, peaceful lake views, and time well spent outdoors, we are deeply thankful for our guests, friends, family, and community who continue to support us.

Dan watched a wolf take down a deer from his Office in Balsam. We are working on winter cabins Lodge, Timberwolf and Lynx for future winter use. Winter activities, sled do***ng, dark skies for great winter celestial viewing, snowshoeing and wild life viewing.
