Today our fire crews packed up and Paralyzed Veterans of America checked in. It was a bittersweet day watching everyone leave the resort for the last time. For the last 26 days we have had the honor to host these brave men and women who left their families and came to Ely to help keep our community safe. In the most unknown times we got the opportunity to provide warm meals, clean cabins and hot showers to over 158 people. In the weeks to come I will be sharing our Camp Fire story🫶🏻

Today we are excited to have PVA back at the resort. All the familiar faces, laughter and smiles is just what we needed to kick off our summer season again. Here’s to catching fish, good food and making more memories 🎣

Camp Fire: 4,357 acres. 69% contained. 288 personnel (down 10). 46 engines. Cost to date: $6 million.

Bear Trap: 29,774 acres. 38% contained. 168 personnel (down 40). 22 engines. Cost to date: $13.2 million.

Sioux: 12,591 acres. 42% contained. 439 personnel (up 2). 20 engines. Structures lost: 3 (all USFS). Cost to date: $5.6 million.

Chub: 424 acres. 96% contained. 100 personnel (down 10). 8 engines. Cost to date: $7.5 million.

Thumb: 16,912 acres. 57% contained. 0 personnel. 0 engines. Cost to date: $1.7 million.

✈️ 🔥 It was great to see so many planes back in the sky this evening after being grounded the last 2 days from the smoke/ limited visibility. Keep sending positive thoughts and prayers to all the pilots and firefighters working countless hours to keep us safe.
