Winter might slow things down in some places, but not here. Morehead City has been named the #2 winter fishing destination in the country for 2026 by FishingBooker — and it’s easy to see why.

For the sixth year in a row, FishingBooker ranked the top winter fishing spots based on species diversity, angler demand, accessibility, and feedback from local captains. This year, Morehead City landed just shy of the top spot.

From bluefin tuna showing up offshore to redfish and speckled trout staying active inshore, winter fishing along the Crystal Coast delivers long after the summer crowds fade.

After almost 3 years, Gabs is finding it hard to find unique dishes for dinner. But she had a home run today when she made Koenigsberger Klopse. Loosely translated, German meatballs in caper sauce. Served over a bed of jasmine rice. It was phenomenal, and I did not feel bad having to give her a full cup of one of my best white w**es to make the dish! 👏👌🍷
