Dear Valued Partners and Customers,

It is with heavy hearts that Trudie and I, are announcing the closure of SUNSHINE RENTALS. After 22 wonderful years of serving the Southern California community, this difficult decision has been made due to an array of challenges that have made continued operations unsustainable.

Since 2020 and post pandemic, the business environment in our region has become increasingly difficult. Due to an array of insurmountable obstacles such as: rising costs, inflation, labor, insurance, interest rates, product costs, vehicle cost, and fuel, etc. and coupled with declining demand from our partners.

Compounding these challenges was a significant financial loss in 2023, when a major customer failed to pay after being acquired. This unexpected loss severely impacted cash reserves and further increased operating costs, and unfortunately, our credit insurance did not cover the loss.

We’ve worked tirelessly to overcome these hurdles, including downsizing operations while preserving the quality of our service. However, despite our best efforts, the math no longer works for a profitable future. The hardest part of this decision has been its impact on our dedicated team, many of whom have provided service to your guests for over a decade—some for our entire 22-year journey. The last day of our distribution center will be Monday March 17th, 2025.

For those of you with existing rentals I will continue to service these rentals from my home. The only services I will be able to provide are exchanges and full houseware pick ups. And the last item to leave building was our amazing big Joe order picker…she is going to a good home, a new start business, and I had pleasure of taking her on final trip up the flat bed tow truck …good by old girl you serviced us well!!!

Huge shoot out to Amvets and Fathers Joes some of the local charities organization that have been taking truckloads of our linens & housewares as we wind down our distribution center this week…of course Bubba Bear and Teddy Bear were playing safty officers every day

Last three hours of our liquidation sale things are flying off the shelf come and get it while it’s hot. We close at 12 PM today at 985 Park Center Dr., Vista.

As many of you know, the past four years have been incredibly challenging for business. We made the tough decision and recently sold our distribution center and will be liquidating our inventory this Friday, March 7, and Saturday, March 8, 2025

It's been a whirlwind these past few weeks, full of ups and downs. Trudie and I have been so touched by the kind messages we've received—they've truly lifted our spirits. This particular message reminded us of the impact our business has on people we've never even met, and it made us feel incredibly special!

I am here to say Thank You to you, your wife and family. My Mother was employed with you for a very long time and you guys never failed to provide her with continuous work. Sunshine Rentals was able to have my mom provide food, shelter, and clothes on our backs. My Mother was a single mother proving for multiple kids and you guys were able to make that happen year after year. We never really had the best child hood but I remember one Christmas you gave my lovely mother a $500 GiftCard to Best Buy, and that was one of the first Christmas my mom ever bought us a Christmas gift because of that gift card. My Christmas Gift was a white IPod Touch that I still have to this day in memory of one of my first Christmas Gifts. Key Dates and Information:
• Last Day for New Deliveries or Turns: February 28, 2025.
• Last Day for Weekly & Bi-Weekly Housekeeping: March 7, 2025
• Existing Rentals: We will continue to service all open rentals with any product failures until the scheduled pickup or next turn. At that point, customers will need to transition to a new provider. I will personally oversee these arrangements and ensure a smooth transition whenever possible, including donating any inventory picked up to local charities.
• Liquidation of Inventory and Equipment: We will be liquidating our inventory, including software systems, laundry equipment, racking, warehouse washing equipment, and office furniture and fixtures. If you or someone you know is interested, please contact me as soon as possible 760-594-1452
• Distribution Center Closure: All Operations will cease from this location on March 17, 2025

We understand this may come as surprise and to prevent any confusion, the timeline is tied to the sale of our Distribution Center building, which was necessary to recover incurred debts.

For 22 years we have never missed a delivery or left a partner hanging

Today we had two installers out at the last minute so I had honor to fill their shoes and do a 2bd delivery …3rd floor no elevator at 58 years old I got done and think it looks great!!

Plus I got to eat at The Hat (just love their pastrami dip) on my way back to the office!!!
