Kemp's ridley (Lepidochelys kempii) sea turtles are the smallest of the world's 7 species of sea turtles. This critically endangered sea turtle nests during windy, stormy DAY early in sea turtle season.
A windy day, is perfect Kemp's day. We are expected to have some windy weather. if you see a turtle that looks like this, please contact Coastal Wildlife Club. See details below.
Last year there were 12 confirmed Kemp's ridley nests in the state of Florida (one of them was from Manasota Key).
