From all of us here at Madison Valley Ranch, thank you for another solid year on the river and around the lodge. We’re grateful for the guests who came to fish hard, eat well, slow down, and enjoy this place the way it’s meant to be enjoyed.

Meet Hannah Eaton, the youngest member of the Eaton Outtfitters family. With big foot steps to follow in her parent's and brother's path, she's quickly caught up and paved her own way as one of the top young fly fishing guides in Montana . A true chameleon when it comes to rowing different personalities down the river, she's also got a knack for finding fish like this. All is well here on the . We're extremely lucky to have a well managed dam at Hebgen lake thanks to . Fishing and flows remains good to excellent as of late despite an unprecedented heat wave. Water temperatures remain suitable for the whitefish and trout, but It's a great time to treat them with extra care by not playing them to the point of exhaustion or handling them out of the water for longer than a few seconds, if at all. A proper release is key. Letting them hang out in the net or soft water while they recover can make all the difference. A single barbless dry fly is the way to go and fortunately it's been working fantastic using caddis, small attractors and golden stonefly patterns.
