The Sister Bay Advancement Association (SBAA) has made the decision to cancel the Arts & Crafts Show and Ferris Wheel for Friday, Oct. 16.

Any other activity scheduled for Friday, including live music, will be determined at the discretion of the host business. Saturday and Sunday’s activities will continue as planned.

Did you know that one of the peninsula's most scenic golf courses is just a few minutes' drive away from Ephraim Shores?

Peninsula State Park Golf Course has been part of the Door County golf scene for over 100 years, and fall is one of the best times of year to play it. The course winds through the park's forests of white cedar, oak, beech, and maple, and views of Eagle Harbor and our village are pretty great, too.

There's a full 18-hole course for those looking to play a full day, and a six-hole course for those looking to get out on the green for a just a bit.

The course is booking tee times through November 1, so there's still time to get a round in...with the fall color as your backdrop!

The Ephraim Business Council put together this handy list of fall restaurant hours, and it's a reminder that there's still plenty of time to get to your favorite seasonal Ephraim restaurants this season.

We've got a to-do list of our own: Chef's Hat , Wilson's Restaurant & Ice Cream Parlor, Anatolia Cuisine, and Old Post Office Restaurant one more time...and of course, we can't forget our upstairs restaurant, Sunset Harbor Grill.

As always, the hours listed are subject to change, so it's always a good idea to reach out to businesses directly to confirm.

Ephraim Shores closes for the season on Sunday, October 25, which means our last evening open is Saturday, October 24.

We're convinced that The Ridges Sanctuary, Inc. is one of Door County's best-kept secrets. It's a 1,600-acre nature preserve in Baileys Harbor, and was founded in 1937 as Wisconsin's first land trust.

The property gets its name from the roughly 30 sandy and crescent-shaped ridges running parallel to the shoreline. Each one of them is a former Lake Michigan beach. That means that walking inland from the water means walking backward about 15 centuries, one ridge at a time.

The quiet landscape is beautiful in the summer...and absolutely stunning in the fall. If you've never been, here are a few suggestions on where to get started:

Guided hikes most days of the week. Ridges naturalists lead a boreal forest hike on weekday mornings, with a shorter walk along the Ridges Boardwalk on weekends

Research hikes: Each month The Ridges invites visitors to explore a different aspect of their research, and you get to chat with their ecologist and research director

Workshops: There's an upcoming fall photography workshop with Door County photographer Len Villano on October 9.

This year's fall colors are expected to peak the third week in October, but like most things in nature, the exact date is impossible to pinpoint.

This interactive map is continuously updated by a network of local color spotters throughout the state, and it's the best way to know how saturated the color will be before you head up to the peninsula.
