Summer is almost here, and the forest floor is covered in beautiful flowers like Blue Bonnets, Lady Slippers, and Trillium. And of course, our breathtaking sunsets happen every day! By the way, our Ferns are showing off again this year and they’re going to be spectacular!
As the seasons change, there’s also some changes happening here at The Village Green Lodge. After a great deal of discernment and soul-searching, I’ve decided to take the next step in my life journey.
I never imagined how much connection I’d feel with the 10 years of hosting your visits to Ephraim! Owning and operating a seasonal business has been both joyful and challenging, but it wouldn’t have been meaningful without all of you. I’ve learned a tremendous amount about people and most importantly about myself. I can’t thank you enough for letting me be a part of your lives and your vacation routine.
Your smiles, laughter, and eye rolls at my quirks have warmed my heart and made this place the cozy and restful vacation spot it is. From the Gathering Room Podcasts to Sunset Pizza and our live music in the yard, you’ve made The Village Green Lodge truly special.
It’s so fitting that this transition happens during Pride Month! Seeing the Pride Flag at the Village Green Lodge and getting such a positive response has been incredible. As an LGBTQ ally, it was so heartwarming to see so many people acknowledge and support unity. Offering a safe place for ALL has been humbling and I appreciate all your kindness.
Of course, thru the years none of this could have been so significant if it hadn’t been for the J1 Visa students. Your acknowledgement and support of these young people has been spectacular as they focus on changing their lives. As a one man show, I relied on so many to make YOUR experience something of value. The wonderful behind the scenes Door County vendors helped make it look easy.
So it is with heartfelt gratitude that I’m proud to introduce Christian and Alexandra Pillat. The new owners of The Wilder Inn! While the name is changing the focus will remain the same with their own flair and touches. They also own Wilder Farms on HWY 57 in Baileys Harbor and Island Lavender in North Ephraim! Focused on thoughtful and intentional hospitality their team will continue to be focused on your needs for rest and relaxation in the best locale in Door County.
Wider Farm is an event space which will support a wide array of gatherings and weddings and live music in the lavender fields. Tours of their operations will be a focal point as the farm becomes another center of reflection in a spectacular garden setting. The Island Lavender store will sell all things lavender and will showcase their branded Lavender Lemonade! Fun!!
As your life journey and adventures take you to new heights please know as I am out and about on my own adventures I take you with my heart. This has been a joyous experience. All the very best to you and your families and again thank you for allowing me an opportunity to be a small part of your lives.
Smiling!
