🎉 Celebrating 20 Years of Tona! 🎉

We are celebrating a very special milestone—20 years with our Hampton family! 💙

For two decades, Tona has truly been the heart of our hotel. Over the years, she has worn many hats—from Houseperson to helping inspect rooms, and today, keeping everything moving behind the scenes in Laundry. No matter where she is needed, Tonna is always willing to jump in and help.

Her caring heart, loyalty, dedication, and genuine love for her Hampton family are just a few of the reasons she is so special to all of us. She has even been honored with the Hampton Spirit Award, an award that could not be more fitting for someone who so beautifully represents the true spirit of Hampton hospitality.

And then there are the pins! ❤️ Tona has saved her Hampton pins throughout the years, and looking at them is like looking at 20 years of memories, milestones, accomplishments, and Hampton history all in one place.

Tona, thank you for 20 incredible years of hard work, laughter, friendship, caring for our guests, and—most importantly—caring for all of us. You don't just work at our hotel. You are part of its heart, its history, and its family.

¡Feliz 20.º aniversario laboral, Tona! Nos sentimos muy bendecidos de contar contigo. 💙🎉

It is National Ice Cream Day! 🍨 Save the date for next month's Ice Cream Social on Sunday, August 9, from 1 to 4 pm at Historic Ephrata Cloister. Visit where Ephrata began during this family-friendly summer celebration, featuring activities perfect for all ages!

This fund-raising event, a project of the Ephrata Cloister Associates in partnership with the Pennsylvania Historic and Museum Commission, will feature ice cream provided by The New Cloister Restaurant and brownie sundaes! Get your ice cream scooped from our Celebrity Dippers! This community event is sponsored by Blue Ridge.

Nature crafts and games under the tent in the meadow will be the highlight of the event. Prizes will be awarded for the first 50 children who complete the Nature Scavenger Hunt.

Local non-profits will showcase their efforts to give back to the community in the large tent by the Visitor Center. The early village of Ephrata was known for its charity 300 years ago, an outreach that still continues to this day.

Visitors are encouraged to stroll the grounds of the Cloister. Guides will be stationed in the buildings to greet visitors and interpret the history of the 18th century structures. There will also be live entertainment, nature hikes, crafts, and more!

Admission at the door: $10/person, Ephrata Cloister Associate Members $5/person, children ages 6 – 10 are $5, and children 5 and under are admitted free.
Proceeds from the day will support educational programming at Historic Ephrata Cloister, including the Student Historians and Community Days for local elementary students. The event will be held rain or shine.

The Museum Store, featuring candles, cards, books of historical interest, and the work of local craftspeople, will be open for browsing and purchases at special discounts.

Please visit our website at www.ephratacloister.org for updates and information, or call the Visitor Center at 717-733-6600.
