Life in the bike lane... or kinda... I'm in a sweet spot here for mountain bikers. Some favorite routes are across Stanley Gap into Cherry Log and then over Bushyhead into Cashes Valley and then up Hwy 2 and from there to the Cohuttas. This weekend they did the TNGA the Trans North Georgia from South Carolina to Alabama. I was at mile 170 here in Higdon of 350. Check out their web site http://www.bikepacking.com/routes/trans-north-georgia-tnga/ Now that the store at Colwell is closed all those bike packers don't have a refueling place and thats how I met Zach and James. A few months ago Zach and James were training and doing a couple of parts of the trail with plans to stop and camp in the Cohuttas. It was late when they arrived at the old store and they had no food. They called and inquired if they could stay at my house. When they arrived they were pretty dirty and stinky. So I sent them upstairs for a shower and gave them some scrubs to wear. I made them some quick food and before you could say Christmas night.. those boys were asleep. Got up early and made them a good breakfast and sent them on their way. They said they would come back... and they did. The are my first RE-Peaters. Go Zach & James... 370 miles... YOU CAN DO IT
I love the term keeper, it's a phrase they use in England more than here.. I want to think I keep you as a friend and keep you comfortable while you are here and I keep on top of things. Much better than manage.
