A rider turned in this Apple phone this week that was found in the area near one of the mule memorials near some big rocks. I know that doesn't really help much, but that's all we've got for a location. It's obviously been out there a while. Please contact the store at High K**b Ranch Campground to claim it. (You must be able to tell us the color of the phone case).

Dance this Saturday night, Oct 24th, 7:00-10:00 PM and church on Sunday morning at 9:00 AM!!

Put on your dancin' boots and head to the Wh***ey Cave Dance Hall to hear Tammy Ward and her daughter, April Kafer, known as the "Pistol Packin' Mama's" play and sing. Some of you may remember Tammy Ward, as she was a permanent camper several years ago.

We'll also have Cowboy Church in the dance hall at 9:00 on Sunday morning with Cob Edwards leading the ceremony. We hope you'll join us for both!!!

Today we celebrate the 87th anniversary of the Shawnee National Forest! 🌲✨

Once known as the Illini and Shawnee Purchase Units, the area was officially designated the Shawnee National Forest by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in September 1939. Much of the land was worn out farmland, but the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) began its restoration in the 1930s by planting pine trees to reduce erosion and rebuild the soil. Today, the Shawnee National Forest is home to thriving hardwood forests, diverse plant life, and countless wildlife species.

We're coming up on the 4th of July and we can't wait to light up the sky with our fireworks display!!! The Equality Fire Dept will be lighting them up for us this year and will have a fire truck on standby if needed. We hope you'll all join us to celebrate America's 250th anniversary as well as 65 years of High K**b Ranch Campground on the 4th!! We're getting a BUNCH of bbq ribs from the Equality Fire Dept's fundraiser tomorrow and will also be serving burgers, brats, hot dogs, chips, macaroni salad and I'll be making corn-a-roni. A dish to pass would be grreatly appreciated...and don't forget to bring your lawn chairs and beverages. See you Saturday night by the pavilion in back of camp!
