Welch’s biggest manufacturing plant isn’t somewhere across the country. It'’s right here in Pennsylvania. For more than 50 years, the small town of North East, PA (yes, that really is the name) has been the heartbeat of Welch’s production. It sits in the middle of vineyards that have kept grape-growing a proud Erie County tradition since the 1800s.
Generations of Pennsylvania families have worked those lines, harvested those grapes, and built Welch’s into the household staple it is today. From your grandma’s PB&J to the juice box in your kid’s lunch, it all starts with Pennsylvania grapes—and the people who’ve been growing them for over a century.
